Brenda Lee Newell, 54, of Burkburnett, passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 11, 2017 in the chapel of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Burkburnett with Rev. Jeff Davidson, officiating. Interment will follow at Burkburnett Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Burkburnett. Brenda was born on July 18, 1963 in Wichita Falls, Texas to the late Hubert Cox and Bobbie Ruth (Petty) Cox. In 1981, she graduated from Burkburnett High School. Brenda was employed with Whataburger for 17 years. Her true passion in life was her grandchildren and being with her family. She is survived by her husband, Denty Newell; her sons, Michael Newell and wife Tiffany, and Timothy Newell and girlfriend Hope Koulavatos; her sister, Janis Elliott; her brother, Kenneth Cox all of Burkburnett; her mother-in-law, Glenda Watson; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
