Randy was born on October 9, 1961 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was the son of James Clyde Burchett and Mary Burchett. Randy met the love of his life, Theresa, in December of 2002. The couple married on October 8, 2004.
Randy spent his life working as an EMT, firefighter and police officer. As a firefighter he received Outstanding Citizen of the Year award in 1984 from the Burkburnett Chamber of Commerce. A year later in 1985, he also received a resolution of gratitude and commendation from the Board of Commissioners of the city of Burkburnett. After many years of public service, he then entered into heavy equipment operating. After several years he decided to retire in October of 2023. After retiring he spent his time doing the things he enjoyed: working cattle, spending time on his family farm, and becoming a master piddler of all things. He had a green thumb which led to a passion for landscaping. He was known for his skill with cattle, his love for horses, and his unwavering dedication to the cowboy way of life.
There was never a dull moment around Randy. He had his own sense of humor that people did not always understand. However, he always made people laugh with his jokes. He was a man's man and embodied the image of the strong, silent, rugged American Cowboy.
Randy is survived by all of his family in Burkburnett including: his mother, Mary Burchett; his wife, Theresa Burchett; his brother, Rodney Burchett and wife Kristi; his sister, Belinda Keeling and husband Chris; his son, Jared Burchett and wife Heather; his daughter, Jamie Bannister and husband Cody; and his son, Kyle Jones and wife Amanda. He was a proud papa of his grandchildren: Tatum, Kevin, Tanner, Kate, Riley, Liam, and Avery; and a great-granddaughter, Adley. He also leaves behind his loving nieces and nephews: Parker, Jacey, Brett and Ryan.
He is preceded in death by his father, James Clyde Burchett.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Burkburnett Volunteer Fire Department.
