A graduate of Howard University, Joseph was a loving, caring person who loved to cook, entertain family and friends, and greeted everyone with, "Hi, call me Joe."
He enjoyed an illustrious, 21-year military career in the United States Army, rising to the rank of Captain at 23 years of age. In 1975, he was placed as Commander of a military base in Ludwigsburg, Germany for three years. One of Joseph’s superiors said of him: “Quiet and unassuming, he produces superior results and commands respect from all those about him.” Throughout his career, he received several medals and commendations. And in 1980, Joseph completed his military services at the Pentagon as a full Colonel (the "Full Bird").
We count ourselves blessed to have had Joseph in our lives. And we pray that you never feel his absence as we plan to remember and demonstrate his love and faith every day.
