STADNYK, Paul April 9, 1937 – September 23, 2014
Paul was born on the family farm near Alvena, Saskatchewan.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine (nee Korpan) as well as by his two sons, Perry (Lois Giesbrecht) and their daughter, Tiffany; Kelly (Carole Rogers- Stadnyk) and their son, Lucas. His is also survived by two siblings, Anne Chubak and Rose Piecowye; one sister-in-law, Maryann; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Paul was predeceased by his parents, Alex and Katherine (Harasymchuk) Stadnyk; and by his siblings, Peter, Helen and Nicolas; two brothers-in-law, John Chubak and John Piecowye.
Paul grew up in Alvena and moved with his family to Saskatoon in 1952. He attended Bedford Road Collegiate. After completion of high school he had a number of jobs including working at the Saskatchewan Government Elevators. Paul was always very construction minded and with the help of friends built numerous homes in Saskatoon for his family. He worked as a drywall installer and taper for over 22 years. Paul also had a subsequent career as a building engineer for McClocklin's Real Estate in Saskatoon for many years.
Upon retirement he became busier than ever taking care of his home and garden – his pride and joy! He was an avid Roughrider and Blue Jays fan. He loved fishing as well as dancing and family gatherings. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather that loved his family dearly! He was a very generous man that always thought of others and was always ready to help. He has touched so many lives and will be warmly remembered by all who knew him.
Prayers for Paul will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Park Funeral Chapel (311 3rd Avenue North, Saskatoon). Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 26, 2014 at the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral of St. George (214 Avenue M South, Saskatoon) with celebrant Very Rev. Fr. Janko Kolosnjaji.
Interment will follow in Woodlawn Catholic Cemetery. The family would like to thank staff at the Royal University Hospital for the care given to Paul.
