Obituary Overview
Forever In Our Hearts
It is with heavy hearts and much love that we mourn the passing of Faye Moore on January 21, 2021 in Regina. Faye was born in St. Paul’s Hospital, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on December 8, 1947, first daughter of Jack and Mary Lee.
Faye was an amazing daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, nurse and friend. She will be sadly missed by all. Faye attended St. Mary’s Separate School and Bedford Road Collegiate in Saskatoon where she met her husband Russ in 1962. Faye was most proud of her RN received from St. Paul’s School of Nursing, Saskatoon in 1968. She worked in the Emergency Departments of St. Paul’s Hospital, and The Regina General Hospital and completed her nursing career with twenty-two years at the Allan Blair Cancer Centre. She married Russ Moore in 1968 and they were blessed with the birth of their daughters Susan in 1972 and Roberta in 1975.
Faye was predeceased by her parents Jack and Mary Lee; sister Gail Thompson and in-laws Harry and Helena Moore. She is survived by her husband Russ; daughters Susan Hoffart (Kyle), Roberta Materi (Scott) and the pride and joy of her life, grandchildren Jordan and Rylan Hoffart, Alexa, Peighton and Kaden Materi. Also surviving Faye are her sister Myra Twordik (Lester); brother-in-law Tom Thompson (Joyce), brother-in-law Roy Moore (Kerrie); nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces.
Faye loved her family unconditionally. She was an excellent cook and baker. Just ask her grandkids who made the best Caesar salad, stuffed potatoes, butter tarts and everything else you can imagine. She loved to golf, mostly with Russ but also with her friends in the Regina Beach Ladies Golf Club and to curl in the Tam’OShanter League at the Tartan Curling Club. She loved camping throughout Saskatchewan as well as trips from the West Coast to the East Coast of Canada. In later years, cottage life in Regina Beach and for the last 20 years Kinookimaw Beach Resort occupied Faye’s summers. Faye and Russ spent countless enjoyable hours following their daughters’ curling careers and attending their grandchildren’s sporting events. She was very proud of the accomplishments of everyone in her family. Heartfelt thank you from the family to the health care professionals in Regina, the Pasqua Hospital and the Allan Blair Cancer Centre who treated Faye with compassion and professionalism over the last few years of health issues.
A special thanks to the care workers of Home Care and The Palliative Care Team who looked after Faye each week.
