BOUGHTON, John Cullis Colonel, CD (Canadian Army Retired)
At home on 3 April, 2011, in his 86th year in Ottawa.
Eldest son of the late Dr. Harvey and Margaret Boughton of Saskatoon. Beloved husband for 60 years of Jane (nee Mathieson), formerly of Saskatoon. Dear brother of Dr. Rhonda Collins (Dr. Lorne) (Lethbridge), Lorraine Proctor (Bert deceased) (Toronto), and Ardeth Sklinchar (Norman deceased) (Saskatoon) and Glenn (Shirley) of Regina. He was the brother-inlaw of Ina Laird (Charles-deceased) (Westbank, BC) and the late Mary Cuthill (Tom) of Saskatoon. He is fondly remembered by his five children, 12 grandchildren and 17 nieces and nephews.
John attended King George Public School and Bedford Road Collegiate Institute in Saskatoon and graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 1948 in mechanical engineering. He enjoyed a 28-year career in the Canadian Army (RCEME). He settled in Ottawa and began a second career in the federal Department of Supply & Services. He was active and healthy for virtually all of his retirement. John is being placed to rest in Pinecrest Cemetery, Ottawa.
