DONALD (DANIEL) BODRUG July 23, 1916 - April 3, 2012
Peacefully, Don passed away on April 3, 2012 in Swift Current, Saskatchewan at the age of 95 years.
Left to cherish his memory are his two sons, Don (Marian) Bodrug and Bob (Cheryle) Bodrug; his two daughters, Joan (Brian) Whiteside and Marian (Bob) Breckon; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Don was predeceased in 2010 by the love of his life, his wife of 71 years, Dorothy.
Don was born on the family farm at Macrorie and moved to Saskatoon at the age of five, where he lived until Dorothy's death in 2010 when he moved to Swift Current to be near family. Don attended Bedford Road Collegiate as well as the College of Engineering at the U of S before embarking on a long and remarkable career with Canada Safeway Limited that spanned 44 years. Don opened and managed several new Safeway stores in Saskatoon and was well known in the business community.
Following his retirement, Don enjoyed gardening, travelling and spending time with his family and friends. Many happy memories were made at the family home on Wiggins Avenue where he and Dorothy lived for 53 years.
A memorial service and celebration of Don's life will take place on June 22, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of the Columbarium, St. John's Cathedral, 816 Spadina Crescent, Saskatoon. In lieu of flowers, donations in Don's memory to a charity of one's choice would be appreciated.
