The passing of Mr. Doug Moore, age 80 years of Saskatoon, occurred on Thursday, September 28th, 2006 at Saskatoon City Hospital.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Florence (nee Ellis); daughter, Maureen (Dwight) Powell and their children, Dana (Deanna) and Lee (Adam), all of Waterloo, ON; son, Jim (Maxine) and their children, Sean and Aaron, all of Humboldt, SK; sister, Wynne (Bryan) Cox of Tauranga, New Zealand; sister-in-law, Helen Ellis of Saskatoon, SK; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister; Hazel Brown and brother-in-law; Raymond Ellis.
Doug graduated from Bedford Road Collegiate and later served in World War II. He then worked at PFRA for 37 years until retirement. He was an honorary life member of the Play Ground Association, Saskatoon Golf and Country Club and a member of the Nutana Curling Club. In Doug's spare time he was an avid sports fan and enjoyed camping, woodworking, wine making, gardening and traveling.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of one's choice in Doug's memory. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, October 2nd, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. from Hillcrest Funeral Home (East on 8th Street turn right before the railway tracks) with Reverend Al Hingley officiating. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to HILLCREST FUNERAL HOME, Ken Scheirich 477-4400.
