DEWAR, VERNA 1910 - 2006
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Verna Dewar on May 25, 2006.
Verna was born in Denholm, SK, October 1, 1910 and attended Princess Alex School and Bedford Road Collegiate. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack in 1988. Verna and Jack wintered in Mesa, AZ for 17 years.
Verna is survived by her son, Robert W. McLellan of Saskatoon and daughter June McLellan of Calgary; grandchildren, Doug, Bob and Greg (Mary) McLellan, Tracy Schmidt all of Saskatoon, Lindsay McLellan of Melville, Don McLellan (Carolyn) and Maureen Bray of Calgary; 10 great-grandchildren, Sherri, Brian and Karin of Calgary, Kevin of Toronto, Carson, Jessie, Laura, Kate, Ben of Saskatoon and Gabriel of Melville; great-great-grandson, Isaac of Calgary. She is also survived by her brother, Archie Moffatt of Kelowna and brother, Alex (Beryl) Moffatt of Vernon, BC, many dear nieces, nephews and cousins. Verna was predeceased by her parents, Ayton and Rosetta Moffatt and brothers, Gordon (Betty) Moffatt and Vince (Alice) Moffatt and sister-in-law Edna Moffatt.
Verna ended her working career with National Drugs. She was a long-time volunteer at the Western Development Museum and was a member of the Nutana Legion.
Many thanks to Dr. W. H. McKee for his many years of kindness; also to the entire staff of Porteous Lodge and Cosmo Villa for their tender care. At Verna's request there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, please honor Verna in your own way.
