Margaret "Ruth " Murray passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2006.
The Funeral Service will be held from the Chapel of Saskatoon Funeral Home, 3384th Avenue North, on Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. conducted by Pastor Dona Franklin and Pastor Gerald Cressman.
Surviving Ruth are her nephew, John (Sandra) Murray and family of Grande Prairie, AB; her niece, Shirley (Marvin) Shewchuk and family of Saskatoon; her cousins, Rupert (Marie) Murray of Saskatoon, and Walter Murray of Sidney, B.C.
She was predeceased by her mother, Eleanor in 1911; her father, David MacNeil in 1969; and her brother, John in 1987; and sister-in-law, Louise Murray.
Ruth was born on October 17, 1909 in Westville, Nova Scotia and came to Saskatchewan and Saskatoon in 1917. She attended Caswell Hill School and Bedford Road Collegiate and graduated from the Saskatoon Normal School and taught for one and a half years. Ruth received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Saskatchewan in 1933 and her Bachelor of Library Science from the University of Toronto in 1943. Ruth worked in the Main Library in the University of Saskatchewan until her retirement in 1977.
Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 279 3rd Avenue North, Saskatoon, S7K 2H8 will be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
