The passing of Florence Moore of Saskatoon, age 94 years, occurred on Monday, August 16, 2021 at St. Paul's Hospital.
Florence is survived by her daughter, Maureen Powell of Kitchener, ON and her son, Jim (Maxine) Moore of Humboldt, SK. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Dana (Deanna) Powell, Lee (Adam) Kapshey, Sean (Robyn) Moore and Aaron Moore. Florence was a proud great-grandmother to Noah and Aariyah Powell, Xander Kapshey and Oliver Moore. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law, Helen Ellis and several nieces and nephews.
Florence was predeceased by her husband, Doug (2006); parents, Ray and Mabel Ellis; brother, Raymond; sister-in-law, Hazel Brown of Vancouver, BC; sister-in-law, Wynne and her husband, Bryan Cox of New Zealand, and nephew, Ed Ellis of Edmonton.
Born in Dauphin, MB, Florence spent most of her life in Saskatoon. She graduated from Bedford Road Collegiate and married her beloved husband in 1948. She worked for many years for the Hudson Bay Company and was honored by them upon retirement. Florence was an amazing baker, gardener and seamstress. She loved to golf and curl. She enjoyed spending time with dear friends playing cards and sharing meals. She loved to travel near and abroad and especially loved going to Waskesiu.
Her final years were spent in Preston Park I Retirement Home where the wonderful staff treated her with great care and kindness, and kept her safe during the Covid-19 pandemic. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to one of Florence's special charities: the MS Society, Ronald McDonald House or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
