LEACH, George November 26, 1927 - May 17, 2014
George Leach, son of Herbert and Jessie Leach and stepson to Elizabeth, was born and raised in Saskatoon where he passed away May 17, 2014 at the age of 86.
George attended Bedford Road Collegiate and shortly after graduating met his wife of 64 years, Jean (Talbot). George spent his career as both a travelling salesman and prior to retirement as a buyer for 16 years at Federated Coop. In retirement, George enjoyed spending time with family and friends, summers in Waskesui and winters in Victoria, music, and developing his amazing talent as an artist. George will be remembered for his unfailing, welcoming smile and friendly nature toward everyone.
He is survived by Jean and their two daughters, Diane (Kelly Hackman) and Leslie (William Sutherland); sisters Florence Leach and Elizabeth (Bea) Kynoch; grandchildren Ryan (Lindsay) and Lisa Schmidt; great- grandchildren Korson and Colby Schmidt; nephews Don and Bill Kynoch; niece Linda (Gerry Novicki); and sister-in-law Mildred Talbot. He was predeceased by brothers-in- law Ken Kynoch and Lyle Talbot as well as Lyle's wife, Dorothy.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial donations be made to support the Family Support group of the Extendicare, 2225 Preston Avenue, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan S7J 2E7. A Memorial Service to honor George and celebrate his life will be held on Friday, May 23, 2014, 11:00 a.m., at The Columbarium at St. John's Cathedral, 816 Spadina Crescent.
