STRELIOFF, Anne (nee Spencer) March 18, 1927 – October 29, 2013
With great sadness we announce the passing of our mother Anne at St. Paul's hospital in Saskatoon.
She is survived by her daughters Sybil (Michael Lem) of Los Angeles, Ca and Sandy of Vancouver, BC; her brother-in-law Alex Strelioff of Marcelin, SK; her sister-in-law Margaret (David) Beck of White Rock, BC; and several nieces and nephews and their children. She was predeceased by her husband Timothy J. Strelioff; her father James Spencer, mother Doris Spencer and brother James Spencer.
Anne was born in Prince Albert, SK and raised in Saskatoon, SK where she attended Bedford Road Collegiate and obtained her Nursing Diploma from St. Paul's Hospital Nursing School. She married our father Timothy in 1949 where they lived on a farm in the Marcelin District until they moved into Saskatoon with their two daughters in 1959. Except for a brief time working in Canora, SK after she graduated from nursing school, she worked as a Registered Nurse in the Saskatoon Hospitals, primarily at St. Paul's Hospital. She attended Mayfair United Church and donated her time to the St. Paul's Women's Auxiliary after she retired.
Anne enjoyed travelling, reading, needle-work, and any activities that allowed her to spend time with her family, friends and condo community neighbors.
Thank you to the doctors and nurses at St. Paul's Hospital. A special thank you is extended to Jane Strelioff, Jeff Strelioff and Jim and Joanne Travis. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Paul's Foundation or the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the W.A. Edwards Family Centre (333 4th Avenue North, Courtesy parking at Saskatoon Funeral Home). Condolences may be sent to mail@saskatoonfuneralhome.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to SASKATOON FUNERAL HOME (306-244-5577).
