CENAIKO, Ivan D. August 10 1956 - July 9, 2009
Ivan passed away peacefully July 9, 2009, in his Saskatoon home. Ivan was born on August 10, 1956 in Saskatoon, SK.
He attended Westmount school and graduated from Bedford Road Collegiate in 1974. Ivan married the love of his life Bonnie (Hahn) on April 24, 1982. They had 27 years together, and had three caring sons Joshua, Adam and Luke. Ivan was a kind, loving and giving person who was respected and loved by all.
Ivan was predeceased by his father John in 1986, mother-in-law Evelyn Hahn in 2000, and father-in-law John Hahn in 1969. He is survived by his wife Bonnie and three sons, his mother Ida (Alan) Stanley, his siblings Raymond (Lee) Cenaiko and family, Dianne (Larry) Cronk and family, Linda Boser and family, Donald (Bonnie) Cenaiko and family. He is also survived by Bonnie's siblings; Judy (Ed) Schofer and family, Linda (Gene) Swejda and family, Grant (Sandy) Hahn and family. Ivan also left behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunties, uncles, and special friends.
Ivan was a humorous person. He was honest and trustworthy with a good and helpful attitude towards others. He had solid family values and raised 3 boys who are a credit to the community. He often said, I've been born and raised in Saskatoon and I'm proud to say I raised my family here too. Among his many hobbies, Ivan always had a well-kept garden and immaculately groomed yard. He was a history buff who enjoyed sports and going for walks. Ivan was proud of his Ukrainian heritage. He leaves a void in our hearts but we know he's safe in the arms of Jesus.
The funeral will take place at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 1405 31st St. West, on Tues. July 14 at 1 pm. Arrangements and cremation will be made by Mourning Glory Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or the Chronic Pain Association.
