MCDADE, Mary Geraldine (Worobec)
It is with great sadness that the family announces the death of their mother and wife, Mary McDade. Surrounded by her family, she passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Watrous Union Hospital.
Mary is survived by her husband Robert, and their children: Terry (Danielle), Bonnie (Tracy), David (Cindy), Patrick (Beverly), and Thomas (Gayle) as well as her grandchildren and one precious greatgrandchild: Shannon, Solon, and Jeremiah; Randi-Lee, Patrick, and Kenten; Melanie, Kaitlyn, Kiara, and Amy; and Isla Rose. She is also survived by brothers Austin and Mervin (Olga) and sisters Helen, Nellie, Alexandra, and Margaret. Mary and Robert were blessed with a wonderful marriage and had recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with family and close friends. Mary was devoted to her family and her positive influence and strong work ethic is evident in the happiness of her children, the success of the family farm, and in the accomplishments of her grandchildren.
Mary was born at home on the family farm in the Venn District. She received her elementary education at the Geneseo and Ridgeford schools and later attended high school in Renown and Bedford Road Collegiate in Saskatoon. She attended Normal School in Regina and Teacher's College in Saskatoon. Mary began her teaching career in the Preeceville area. She also taught in the Watrous and Simpson areas as well as at Imperial School in Imperial.
Mary was predeceased by infant son Gerald, parents Peter and Tekla, brother Steve, and sisters Anne Tymchak, Olga Swystun, and Leona Redding.
The mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 10th at 11:00 a.m. and the Vigil for the Deceased will be held on Thursday, February 9th at 7:00 p.m. at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church in Watrous. Interment will be at St. Phillip's Cemetery at Simpson, SK. Arrangements have been entrusted to Fotheringham's Funeral Service (946 -3334). In lieu of flowers, donations to the Saskatchewan Alzheimer's Society would be greatly appreciated. A mother is with us always, first in her lifetime, then forever in our memory.
