LISTWIN, George Nestor
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of George N. Listwin, age 77, businessman and entrepreneur, which occurred at St. Paul's Hospital on February 19, 2009.

George was born on September 20, 1931 in the City of Saskatoon to the late John and Anne Listwin. He attended Bedford Road High School and graduated from the University of Saskatchewan Engineering School in the 1950's with a degree in civil engineering. George together with his brothers, Raymond and the late Ron Listwin ran several successful businesses including Tip Top Tailors, Capitol Food Markets, The Pop House and Starlite Bottlers. He designed from the ground up the state-of-the art bottling facility that became Starlite Bottlers (Pepsi Cola) in 1974.

George was an avid gardener and maintained the most beautiful plants year-round in his greenhouse. George enjoyed fishing and spending time with friends and family at Waskesiu Lake. He traveled to many hot destinations and recently visited his favorite place, Kauai. Being an avid coin collector, at Christmas, George delivered mint coin sets to his niece and nephews that now represent a wonderful historical connection for his family. Uncle George and Great Uncle George was an extremely kind and generous man, whom we all loved so very much. He will be greatly missed.

George is survived by his younger brother, Raymond; his niece, Louise (Ian) Johnston; and nephews, Don (Hilary), Todd (Tanya) and Craig (Dena) Listwin; and seven great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Saskatoon Funeral Home (338 4th Avenue North) Thursday, February 26th at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the George N. Listwin Scholarship for Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan. Email condolences may be sent to mail@saskatoonfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are entrusted to Saskatoon Funeral Home. 244-5577.
