SEMENCHUK, Harry January 16, 1916 - May 23, 2008
The family is very saddened to announce the sudden and unexpected passing of our dear husband, our dad and grandfather on Friday, May 23rd. He had just celebrated his 92nd birthday in January, followed by his 65th wedding anniversary in February.
He leaves to mourn his loving wife, Nettie; sons, Gerry (Diana), Don (Lynne), his daughter, Marlene (Larry Krulak); and five grandchildren, Jordy, Krista, Chad, Ryan and Layne.
Harry was born and raised in Saskatoon. He attended Pleasant Hill School and graduated from Bedford Road Collegiate. After high school he worked at Henick's Butcher Shop until he enlisted in the Navy. After the war he worked at the Post Office until he retired. His first love has always been his family. He also loved skating, golfing, fishing, bowling and attending to his many plants. In later years, he took up curling, and played wist, cribbage and kaiser several times a week. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by all who knew him.
A Memorial Service will be held at Acadia Drive Funeral Chapel (915 Acadia Drive) on Thursday, May 29, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation. Interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to one of your favorite charities. Arrangements are in care of David Schurr of ACADIA-MCKAGUE'S FUNERAL CHAPEL 955-1600.
