Deanna passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, March 11th, 2008 at the age of 65.
Deanna was born on March 22nd, 1942 in Goodeve, SK to Catherine (Katie) and Ferdinand (Fred) Sikorski and lived in Goodeve until moving to Saskatoon in 1952. She attended both Princess Alexandra School and Bedford Road Collegiate. After high school, Deanna was employed as a district clerk at Sask Power from 1960-1965. She often spoke of her time there and the fond memories of the people she worked with. She married the love of her life, Alan on September 16th 1961. After her first child, Debbie was born in 1965, she devoted her life to being an incredible wife, mother and grandmother. Her love, inspiration, strength, and caring will always be cherished.
She is dearly loved and remembered by Alan, her devoted husband for 46 years; three daughters and six grandchildren, Debbie (Scott) Huntley and their son Brendan; Susan (Keith) Weisgerber and their children Lauren and Kristen, Trish (Glen) Revering and their children Samantha, Thomas, and Daniel; her sisters, Sandra Parno, Frances (Larry) Edelman, Iris (Ken) Campbell, Darlene (Joe) McMahon and Freda (Hal) Robinson; her brothers, Ed (Judy) Sikorski and Gordon (Marilyn) Sikorski and sister-in-law, Nadya Sikorski; as well as aunts, uncles, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, Ferdinand (Fred) and Catherine (Katie); her sisters, Edith, Evelyn, and Genevieve; one brother, Myrle; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Raymond and Hilda Lutz; two brothers-in-law, Ed Parno and Bill Rayburn; and one sister-in-law, Kathy Rayburn.
Deanna enjoyed cooking, baking, and gardening, but mostly spending time with her family especially her grandchildren who she loved so dearly. She loved visiting with family and friends at home or on the phone. There was always a pot of coffee or tea on for anyone who stopped by. Deanna had a great sense of humor, but her greatest gift was her ability to listen with her heart. Deanna touched so many lives and we will truly miss her.
The family would like to thank Dr. Harington, Dr. Stakiw and the Palliative Care Team at St. Paul's Hospital as well as the Home Care Nurses, Addie, Debra and Georgina.
