LORRAINE WALLACE (Wilson)
It is with great sadness the family of LORRAINE WALLACE (Wilson) announces her passing on January 31st at a youthful 72. Lorraine faced her battle with cancer the same way she faced life, with grace and good-humor, finding the joy in each day no matter how trying.

She was born and raised in Saskatoon, quickly becoming a hockey fan at the Old Arena on 19th street with her father Hobb Wilson, a long-time player, coach and booster with the Saskatoon Quakers. The Wilson family spent winters at the rink & summers at the family's shack tent in Waskesiu, then in the 1970's, a cabin at Sunnyside Beach, Emma Lake. Lorraine, her brother Andy and their late-mother Dorothy's eyes would sparkle with stories from these days.

Lorraine married the love of her life Ron Wallace on April 1, 1974, who met while both teaching at Walter Murray Collegiate. For much of the past 41 years, the Wallace family & friends often gathered at their home in Eastview for card games, visiting and later swimming in the backyard pool. Together they shared the profession of teaching and a passion for family, sports & travel. It was the 2nd marriage for both Lorraine and Ron, their love for each other and their families carried them through any challenges they faced, including a desire to not let cancer interrupt their lives. Her best therapy the past two months were emails & visits with family & friends. She was thrilled to receive the news that her father Hobb and his teammates will be inducted in July 2015 into the SK Hockey Hall of Fame as the Captain of the 1934 IIHF World Hockey Champions Saskatoon Quakers.

After marrying Ron, she became a hockey, football, soccer and baseball mom/spouse, traveling Canada, North America and beyond in their motorhome, 4 door hardtop Chrysler and via rail/airlines. They loved every minute of it; better yet, they got a do-over the past 30 years with their grandkids, with the ride home often including ice cream, home made milkshakes or her famous chocolate chip cookies. If Lorraine and Ron were in town, the schedule revolved around the grandkids activities & interests.

Lorraine cherished the time spent with her family and truly great friends. The activities included Wednesday girls bridge; Grade 12 Bedford Road Girls reunions, Friday night mixed bridge, the "Crazy Canucks" RV Travel Group, Mesa, AZ winter friends, Eastview Community Association, Pow City Kinsmen, Kinette Club, & K40's, McClure Place & Church, various sports associations for baseball, hockey, football, basketball, soccer, others. She loved her career as a teacher, making life-long friends while at Saskatoon Tech Collegiate, Walter Murray and Evan Hardy Collegiate.

Carrying her memory close is her husband Ron, sons Alan (Brenda), Rick (Chris), Scot (Tina), Ryan (Kelli), Lane (Charlene), daughter Karen (Bart); grandchildren Kori, Cody, Veronica, Candace, Emmy, Dustin, Taylor, Eric, Harrison, Mackenzie, Jett, Dawson, Sammy & Jo Jo. Great grandchildren Klynt, Kyla & their mother Alicia; her brother Andy (Val), niece Leigh (Dustin, Charlee & Austin) and nephew Marc. She was predeceased by an infant son, Ross and her oldest grandson, Kristopher.

She will live on in all our memories of her marvelous life; best served with a glass of red wine. The family will host a gathering in her memory at a later date. Lorraine had a vast network of close friends along with family; she thanks them all for their prayers, compassion & thoughtfulness.

Special thank you to Dr. Bob Parker and his staff, the Cancer Centre staff, Dr. Agrawal, Margie, the Palliative care nurses in particular Donna, St. Paul's Hospital.
