BOMOK, Austin
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the loss of our beloved son, brother, family member and friend passed away tragically at Dore Lake SK on July 16, 2022 at 28 years of age.

Austin will be missed everyday by his dad, Terry (Sue) Bomok and mother, Debbie Bomok; his sister, Amaris (Len) Reiman, their four children; brother, Ryan Bomok; sister, Billie Bomok; stepsister, Ashley (Andy) Quinney and their two children. He is survived by Grandmother Maryanne Boyanchuk and will be deeply missed by his girlfriend, Jenn Malyk. He will be forever remembered by his many aunts, uncles and cousins from the Bomok, Boyanchuk, Reiley, Renaud and Scheibelhoffer families. He will live in the hearts of many great friends, peers and members of the Canadian Armed Forces.

Growing up in Saskatoon he attended Bedford Road High School and was part of the wrestling and football teams. An all-around athlete, he continued to pursue fitness and training with cross-fit groups in the city. It was no surprise that in 2015 Austin took the oath to become a member of the Canadian Armed Forces. He completed basic training 2016 in Saint-Jean-sur-Richeleiu, QC. Later, Austin was posted to Wainwright, AB and then lastly to CFB Edmonton as a member of Edmonton's 3rd Battalion Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry - addressed as "Corporal Austin Bomok."

Austin loved the outdoors: Fishing, quadding, snowboarding and any adventure that he had the opportunity to participate in with his friends and family. He was a MasterChef, a loving uncle and would give the shirt off his back for you. He cherished and enjoyed each time he was able to be at his Auntie Lisa and Uncle Brian's farm- whether that be popping in for a visit, a family dinner, or to lend a hand with whatever needed to be done. He was always filling us in on his next training exercise, where they were headed, and the crazy stories from the military field. We're going to miss his smile, those stories, and how he made us feel to be around him.

Austin spent the last few weeks of his life surrounded by his love, his family, and his friends; making sure he snuck a visit in with his longtime best friends, having dinner with parents and chasing his nephews around. This was within the short window he had while on summer holidays before his much-anticipated fishing trip with his cousin Scott.

His life ended unexpectedly and we are left with broken hearts. Although we did not have the chance to say goodbye, as his family and his friends, we will always remember how lucky we are to have had the chance to be a part of his family, to be his friend and to live in his heart.

Austin is now with his Baba Grace and Grampa Floyd Graham. Sitting on a slice of heaven in the clouds; and they each have line in the water.

Love you forever Austin. It's not goodbye - it's see you again!

Our family would like to extend sincere gratitude to the RCMP, Rescue Teams, Air Pilots and dearest residents of Dore Lake who helped us in Austin's search.

Austin's life will be celebrated on Friday, August 12, 2022 at 1:00pm at TCU Place (35-22nd St. East in Saskatoon, SK). Doors open at 12:30pm. A private family interment will be held the following day. For those of who cannot attend, the service will be livestreamed and link will be posted on Facebook at a later date. In lieu of flowers we ask that you visit an old friend, pick up your favorite food to cook, take a walk in the trees and enjoy those around you while you still can. That's what Austin would have done. Condolences may be shared with the family by visiting www.hillcrestmemorial.ca
