Terry Christine Anderson passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on December 7, 2020.
Terry was born August 20, 1952 in Saskatoon, SK., the second daughter of seven girls to Malcolm and Audrey Anderson. She went to Mayfair School from grade one to four and Westmount School from grade five to eight. She attended Bedford Road Collegiate for grade nine to twelve and graduated June 1971 followed by one year at University of Saskatchewan.
After a few years working at Canadian Linen, Terry found her calling working in banking first with the Bank of Nova Scotia and finally with the Bank of Montreal, where she worked for more than 35 years. With the Bank of Montreal she worked in Saskatoon, Sk., Wainwright, AB. and Edmonton, AB, where she excelled as a mortgage specialist. She loved helping people buy their homes. For a few years Terry also moon lighted working in the ticket sales at Marquis Downs in Saskatoon and Northlands Race Track in Edmonton during the horse racing seasons.
For several years Terry reigned as the Freckle Queen with the City of Saskatoon Parks and Recreation summer program and rode in the annual Children's Day Parade. She enjoyed doing ceramics and paper tole art. She was amazing at calligraphy and hand wrote the wedding invitations for several of her sisters. She also created beautiful life books for each of her sisters when they got married.
Terry enjoyed many lifelong friendships. She looked forward to family gatherings and reunions a lot of which were at Manitou, Sk., where her parents had retired and still has family living there. She loved her dogs she had through the years. Emma, Lizee, Kenzie and lastly Katee. Terry doted on all her nieces and nephews and taught any who wanted the tough rules of cribbage she had learned from her father. She won a lot of games by stealing the points that her opponents missed counting.
Terry was generous to all and will be missed every day by friends and family. Terry is survived by her sisters Karen Urusky (Jerry), Nora Horan, Lois Flynn, Lee Makovichuk (Rob), Lorraine Worobec (Gerry) and Tracy Dieno. Her nieces and nephews Danny Unruh (Jill), Liana Supple (Stu), Evan Horan, Dwayne Lolacher (Tiffany), Michael Lolacher (Natasha), Hailey Flynn, Cameron Makovichuk (Lisa), Darren Makovichuk (Liane), Stephen Worobec, Jason Worobec (Kelsey), Holly Worobec, Laura Downer (David), Nicole Coelho (Tristan), Megan Wilton (Garry), Sean Dieno (Patrick Kachirka) and many great nieces and nephews.
Terry was predeceased by her father Malcolm Anderson (1987), mother Audrey Anderson (1997), brother in law Brian Unruh (2001), brother in law Dale Horan (1986), brother in law Dale Dieno (2019), nephew Curtis Unruh (2007) and nephew Weston Wilton (2019).
A Virtual Celebration of Life will be held on December 28, 2020. If you wish to attend, please email lois.flynn@shaw.ca for details. Terry will be laid to rest in Saskatoon, SK in the summer. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Kidney Foundation or a charity of your choice.
