SAWCHUK, Terry Lynn (Harrison) November 4, 1951 - December 28, 2007
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Terry Lynn Sawchuk after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She passed away peacefully with her family by her side December 28th, 2007 in Palliative Care at St Paul's Hospital.
Terry was born November 4th, 1951 in Tisdale, Saskatchewan. Her school years were spent in Saskatoon where she attended Mayfair School and Bedford Road Collegiate. There she met the love of her life, Andy Sawchuk. Terry and Andy were married July 26th, 1975. They spent 14 years in Regina where their two children, Greg and Carla were born. In 1989, Terry and Andy moved back to Saskatoon and within a year Terry started her career with Harris Rebar.
Although Terry was very dedicated to her career, her main focus in life was her family. Her family included everyone whose heart she touched. She was very involved with her children and their activities as well as the community and the church.
Terry is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Andy, her son Greg (Mary), her daughter Carla (Ryan), her mother Clara (Doug), her sister Pat (Sheldon) and their children Scott (Jody) and family, Shaunda (Peter) and family, her sister Wendy (Vic) and their children Owen, Brina (Matt) and Garret, her mother-in-law Ella Sawchuk and all of the Sawchuk family, as well as many other relatives and friends. Terry was predeceased by her father Robert Harrison and her father-in-law Stefan Sawchuk.
Terry was an exceptional woman and an amazing wife, mother and friend. Her faith will live on through all who knew and loved her. Thanks to all friends and family for their love and support during Terry's courageous battle.
A special thanks to Harris Rebar for their support and generosity as well as the Saskatoon Cancer Centre and St Paul's Palliative Care. A Celebration of Terry's Life will be held on Wednesday January 2nd, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church (107 McWillie Avenue). Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Terry's memory to the Saskatoon Cancer Centre or St Paul's Hospital FoundationPalliative Care. Arrangements in care of Kurtis Rae MOURNING GLORY FUNERAL SERVICES (978-5200).
