SUVEGES
It is with deep sadness, but also with a sense of peace and celebration of a life well-lived, that we announce the death of our father, grandfather and brother, John Frank Suveges, on June 12, 2006, in Saskatoon City Hospital, at the age of 79 years.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 56 years, Effie; his children, Linda Suveges and Doug (Adele) Suveges; his grandchildren, Nadine and Kayla Suveges; his sister, Irene Suveges; and his brothers-in-law, Russ (Gerry) and Cal (Joan) Hoffman and their families; as well as numerous friends, especially those he met through bowling. John was predeceased by his parents, Steve (1984) and Julia (1976).

John was born on January 1, 1927, in Prud'Homme, SK, but he was essentially a "Saskatoon boy ", having lived in the city since the age of three. He attended King George School and Bedford Road Collegiate, and worked at the Robin Hood Flour Mill for over 40 years. During his younger days, he was an avid bowler, gardener, hunter and angler and he always had many stories to tell, some of which might even have been true! More recently, John enjoyed watching any televised sports event, but he had a special interest in baseball, especially watching the Blue Jays, cheering or cursing as the occasion required. Most of all, John enjoyed spending time with his family, catching up on our lives and celebrating our special events. Family events around the dinner table were always fun, with John leading the way he enjoyed a good joke, and could give and take a good amount of teasing, and of course, there was always a story to tell! He loved to talk and reminisce, and in the last few years he especially valued the time spent with close friends Ernie Frizzell, Dave Pollom, and Hub Weinkauf.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at Park Funeral Chapel (311 Third Avenue North) on Thursday, June 15, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. A private family interment will take place at a later date. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. H. Baldwin and the staff of Ward 6300 at Saskatoon City Hospital for their care during John's recent hospitalization. We are also indebted to the staff of the Geriatric Assessment Unit at Saskatoon City Hospital and to the Saskatoon Health Region's Home Care Services for their support, assistance and care of John and our family over the past few months. If friends wish to remember John with a charitable donation, the family suggests that donations be sent to the Saskatoon City Hospital Foundation (Geriatric Assessment Unit), 701 Queen Street, Saskatoon, SK, S7K 0M7, or the Saskatoon Firefighters Burn Centre Fund, PO Box 6067, Saskatoon, SK, S7K 4E5, or to a charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements entrusted to Neysa Gee of PARK FUNERAL CHAPEL, 244-2103.
