BINDLE, Glen James June 27, 1957 - March 15, 2010
The passing of Glen James Bindle, age 52 years of Saskatoon, SK, occurred on Monday, March 15th, 2010 at St. Paul's Hospital Palliative Care, Saskatoon, SK.
He is survived by his loving partner of 25 years, Patty Kozak and their daughter, Emily; brother, Bruce (Darlene) Bindle of Guernsey, SK and their daughter, Caroline; sister, Joan Long of Lanigan, SK; mother-in-law, Pat Trischuk of Saskatoon, SK; brother-in-law, Lynn (Jackie) Kozak of Saskatoon, SK; sisters-in-law, Donna (Mac) Savage of Meacham, SK, Darcy Kozak (Terry Hogan) of Edmonton, AB, and Cathy Kozak (Wes Noble) of Saskatoon, SK; as well as numerous aunts, nieces and nephews.
Glen was predeceased by his parents, Martha and Rudy Bindle; brothers-in-law, Gary Long and Myron Kozak; father-in-law, Nick Kozak and father-in-law, Bill Trischuk.
Glen was born in Saskatoon and went to Boughton and King George Schools, and Bedford Road Collegiate. Glen started with the City of Saskatoon in 1978. He worked on different crews with many wonderful people and was fortunate to have good times with his CUPE 859 Brothers and Sisters. After obtaining his 1A licence he enjoyed operating a tandem gravel truck for many years. Glen was eagerly anticipating his upcoming retirement to try something new.
Glen loved the Meewasin Valley, birds, yard work, projects of any kind but he especially loved his daughter Emily. A diagnosis of pancreatic cancer cut short his life swiftly, and too soon. He fought bravely, and was very grateful to family, friends, and the nurses and staff at St. Paul's Hospital Palliative Care who cared for him during his last days. You're free now buddy.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a trust fund account for his daughter, Emily, in care of Robert Voth, Manager, Saskatoon City Employees Credit Union, City Hall, 222 3rd Avenue N. Saskatoon, Saskatchewan S7K 0J5 or The Meewasin Valley Bench Program, 402 3rd Ave. S. Saskatoon, Saskatchewan S7K 3G5. Please indicate Glen's name on the donation. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 20th, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home (east on 8th Street, turn right before rail crossing). Interment will be held at a later date. Family and friends may send condolences from the website www.hillcrestmemorial.ca . Arrangements entrusted to Kenneth Scheirich.
