SIROIS, Audrey Mae (Hickey)
With heavy hearts, we are saddened to announce the sudden passing of Audrey Mae Sirois at Royal University Hospital on Monday, December 21, 2009 at the age of 81 years.

Audrey was born to Hilda and John Hickey in Saskatoon, SK on September 20, 1928. She attended St. Paul's Elementary School and Bedford Road Collegiate. Following high school she took a business course at Saskatoon Business College and upon completion began employment with Revenue Canada. Audrey married Mederic Sirois in 1948 and lived in Regina for a short while before moving to Edmonton. They had two sons, Greg born July 1949 and Geoff in May of 1952.

They purchased a pharmacy and together operated a successful family business for many years. After closing their pharmacy Audrey worked at the Edmonton airport, and then went back to school to take a Business Administration course. Soon after she began working for the Edmonton Real Estate Board. While living in Edmonton, she was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. In 2002 Audrey moved back to Saskatoon to be close to family.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed her social gatherings playing bridge. Her other interests were knitting and watching her Edmonton Oilers and Eskimos. Her church community at Our Lady of Lourdes was very important to her.

Audrey was predeceased by her husband, Mederic in March 2000; son, Geoff in August 2001; her parents, Hilda and John Hickey; her brothers, Weldon and Norman; half-brothers, Alden 'Bud', and Gordon; and half-sister, Kathleen McAvoy. Surviving are her son, Greg (Celine) and granddaughter, Misha of Singapore; late Geoff's partner and soul-mate, Cynthia Green of Surrey, BC; sister, Yvonne Fiddler of Saskatoon, SK, brothers-in-law, Jack McAvoy of Saskatoon, SK, and Bert (Helen) Sirois of Edmonton, AB; and sisters-in-law Ann McIntosh, of Edmonton, AB, Lynda Hickey of Toronto, ON, and Joan Hickey of Surrey, BC.
