MACDONALD, Carol L. MacDonald 1920 - 2009
Carol passed away peacefully on August 30, 2009 with all of her family at her side.

She was predeceased by her parents, Maude and Stan Wells; her sister, Grace; and brother, Al. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Jack; her sister, Loreen McKay (Bill); her brother-in-law, Ken MacDonald (Louella), and their three daughters, Joan MacDonald, Linda Churchman (Rod) and Barb Wouters (Mark); grandchildren, Shelley Holben (Robert), Rob Wilson (Lisa), Sarah Buck (Dalys) Ian, Colin and Adam Churchman; great-grandsons, Carsyn, Noah and Aidan Buck; and many nieces and nephews.

Carol was born and raised in Saskatoon, graduated from Bedford Road Collegiate and Saskatoon Business College. During World War II she was proud to serve as a private secretary to the Commanding Officer of the RCAF's Initial Training Centre in Saskatoon. Following the war she was employed by a firm of chartered accountants where she met her future husband, Jack. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Montreal for over five years and then returned to Saskatoon.

Carol was a devoted homemaker, known for her wonderful meals. Family was everything to her. Carol enjoyed many years wintering at their home in Sun Lakes, Arizona, and summers at their Waskesiu cottage which allowed her to continue her love of golf year round. She was a long term member of Second Street United Church and in her later years, Knox United Church.

The family sincerely thanks the loving care Mom received after her stroke from Stensrud Lodge, and a special thank you to her dear friend, Alice Petrisor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Paul's Hospital Foundation. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, September 3, 2009 at the Chapel of the Saskatoon Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Carlton Miller A family burial service will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery prior to the funeral.
