J. R.A. (Bob) Robinson businessman, companion, son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend died at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon on December 8, 2003.

A Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of the Saskatoon Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Margaret Mckechney. Courtesy parking south of the chapel on 4th Avenue North at 25th Street.

Born in Tisdale, SK, almost 81 years ago, he is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty (nee Ward), and by: his son, Richard (Elaine) of Calgary; and daughters, Lynn (Peter) Griffin of Deep River, ON and Patricia (Jim) Duggleby of Regina; by four grandchildren, Christine (Philippe) Nault of Moose Jaw, Scott of Calgary, Jeremy Duggleby and fiance Christine Charbonneau of Winnipeg, and Katherine (Andre) Simard of Regina; sisters, Edith Apps and Ferne Robinson of Saskatoon; a niece, Diane (Brent) Okrainetz and their children in Saskatoon; and a nephew, Ken Apps of Calgary; and by several cousins. He was predeceased by parents, Howard and Bertha Robinson of Saskatoon.

A graduate of Bedford Road Collegiate, Bob joined the Royal Canadian Air Force on his 18th birthday September 18, 1940 and served for the duration of the war. In 1948 he joined the Canadian Army (Militia), serving until 1973 and attaining the rank of Major.

Starting from humble beginnings during the Great Depression, Bob rose through a variety of jobs to become General Manager of a major Canadian corporation with operations on two continents. He joined Intercontinental Packers Limited as a livestock clerk in 1946, managed the Saskatoon plant between 1959 and 1964, managed the Vancouver plant from 1964 to 1966, and became general manager of the company in 1966 a position he held until 1977.

On leaving Intercontinental Packers he joined the Concorde Group of Companies, working as a management generalist and advisor to the CEO until his death.

Bob was a dedicated angler who spent many peaceful days on or near the waters of western and northern lakes and rivers. A lover of art and music he lived his life with humor, wit, pride and a quiet but well developed sense of justice. He was very proud of the academic and military accomplishments of his children and grandchildren, who loved him and will miss him.
