It is with heavy hearts that the family of Donna Olson announce her passing while in St Pauls Hospital, surrounded by love and her family. Donna was a Devoted Wife, Mom, Grandma, Sister, Aunt and friend.
Donna was born in Saskatoon on May 17, 1947 to Andrew and Doris Kraley. She attended Westmount and Bedford Road schools. She met the Love of her life Leo "Butch " Olson in 1962 and together with love, care and hard work they raised their 4 boys. She worked as a Nurse in the Operating Room at St Pauls Hospital until an untimely illness.
Devoted sister to her 4 siblings, her family always came first. She was her Sons' number one fan in whatever they did. They were her life. She carried a special relationship with each one of them. Her grandchildren were her life's reward and she loved each of them so very much. She cherished her summers at the family cabin at Delaronde Lake. There was always cards to be played and money taken by her Babatized!!! So many memories were made for all of the family. Special family trips were enjoyed. In recent years she was able to fulfill a life dream trip through the USA to Memphis and to Texas and Mexico with Butch and her sister Gail. Donna was a skilled shopper and Christmas was her time of year. An amazing lady gone way too soon.
Donna was predeceased by her parents Andrew and Doris Kraley, Tony Solinger, Brothers Bobby and Andrew Kraley. Her in-laws, Ed and Signe Olson. Left to cherish her memory and miss her deeply are her loving husband Leo "Butch " Olson, Her 4 sons' Shannon (children Kirsten, Brittany, Kyle, Sean, Kevin), Michael (Lisa and children Scott and Conner), Randy (Donna and daughter Jade), Darcy (Kate and children Julia and Mhari). Her devoted siblings Gail (Mel) Orville (Corrine) DorthyAnn (Danny) also her best friend of 51 years Adelle Stevens. Her special niece, Charmaine (Rob) and her great-nephews and niece Jaron & Jason and Janae, whom she was a big part of their lives. Also several other nieces and nephews and special family friend John Neff. Sister-in-laws Gloria and John Unrau, Vina and Vince Hogan, Red Olson.
The Family would like to say a Special Thank you to the ICU Doctors and Nurses who took Great care of Donna with Dignity and Respect. Special thanks to Nurses Susan and Denise who made things a bit easier for the family. A visitation for Donna will be Tuesday, December 20, 2011 from 6 8 pm at the Saskatoon Funeral Home. The memorial service for Donna will be Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at 1:00 pm at the Saskatoon Funeral Home (corners of 4th Avenue and 25th Street). In Lieu of Flowers Donations can be made in Memory of Donna Olson to The St Pauls Hospital Foundation. Arrangements are entrusted to Westwood Funeral Chapel. 653-3434
