DAGENAIS, Yvonne (Harvey) 4 Feb. 1940 - 16 May 2017
Yvonne passed away in Chilliwack general hospital from complications of cancer.

Yvonne was a loving person who will be missed by all. Momma D was the matriarch of her family who held all of them dear to her heart. A truly social being, she was interested in everyone and all were welcome in her orbit and her home. She was an enthusiastic supporter of the ideas and projects of her family and friends even those which were a bit short on practicality. She encouraged all to follow their dreams. Her passions included her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, red hat ladies, Eastern Star, curling, bingo and almost any kitchen table game. She was proud of the senior women's curling championship her team won in Chilliwack. Yvonne was always cheerful despite many years of suffering with Crohn's disease.

Yvonne was born in Newport, South Wales and immigrated to Canada with her family in 1948. Her schooling was at Malpas School in Newport and Pleasant Hill public school and Bedford Road High School in Saskatoon. She obtained a teaching certificate from the Saskatoon Teachers College and after a number of years of part time study, a B.Ed. degree from UBC. Yvonne taught in a number of schools around the country. These include Montgomery and Mayfair schools in Saskatoon, Falconbridge Elementary in the Sudbury area and several in the Fraser valley. She spent her career making the lives of others better, never putting herself first. Towards the end of her career she worked as a school librarian. This gave her greater flexibility to deal with her Crohn's disease which eventually caused her to take long term health leave.

Left to cherish her memory are Yvonne's daughter Heather and her son Ryan ( MacKenzie), grandchildren Kaison and Koehn and daughter Nekeita, granddaughter Kallie and Yvonne's son Michael (Larissa) and his children Tyler and Andrew. Her brother Bryan (Eileen) nephews James and Don (Jean) and their children Amanda and Cameron as well as a number of cousins in the UK and Canada. Also grieving are her friend Ken, her second husband Dwight and her many, many friends. She was predeceased by her parents Laurence and Irene Harvey and her first husband Ted Hall.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Crohn's and Colitis Canada(www.crohnsandcolitis.ca) or a charity of your choice.
