WAITE, MARGARET (nee Roper) July 27, 1921 - May 8, 2015
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Margaret Waite at St. Paul's Hospital on May 8, 2015.

Margaret was born in Colonsay, Saskatchewan on July 27, 1921 and moved with her parents to Saskatoon at the age of five. She attended High School at Bedford Road Collegiate, where she enjoyed playing basketball, with her team winning several provincial titles. After taking a business course, she first employed by a credit bureau and then worked in the head office of Sask Livestock Pool until she married in 1951.

She enjoyed travelling, golf, and being a member of the Lion L's, serving as President twice and chairing several special events. She was a stay at home mom, but once her children started school, she became a volunteer, mainly for the Red Cross and Meals on Wheels. She also spent countless hours travelling and helping her husband with his work as Director of Lions International.

Margaret was predeceased by her loving husband Dr. Wm T. (Bill) Waite, sisters Betty Davidson and Gerry Tullis, brothers Dale, Jack and Roy Roper, as well as in-laws Stan McKenzie, Jack Cowan and Clara Roper. Margaret is survived by sisters Dot Cowan, Inez McKenzie and brother Ken Roper (Ernestine), sisters-in-law Marion and Dot Roper. She is also survived by son Bill (Bonnie), granddaughter Kim Wotherspoon (Chris), great grandsons Broden and Reid Wotherspoon, daughter Joanne Hunt (Peter), granddaughter Christianne Hunt (Fergus) and grandson Thomas Hunt. There are also many nieces, nephews and close friends.

We wish to express our deepest gratitude to all staff on the 7th floor of St. Paul's Hospital, who provided exceptional care and helped Mom maintain her comfort and dignity until the end. Also special thanks to Brenda Friesen and Kim Wotherspoon for the countless hours they spent keeping Mom company while other members of the family were away.

Mom's Service will be held in a few weeks and will be announced in a future edition of this newspaper. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate memorial donations be made to the St. Paul's Hospital Foundation (1702 20th St. W. Saskatoon SK S7M 0Z9). Condolences may be sent to mail@saskatoonfuneralhome.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Saskatoon Funeral Home. 244-5577
