TARASOFF, Keith
It is with profound sadness that the family of Keith Tarasoff announce his sudden passing at his farm home near Canora, SK.

Keith was born on June 16, 1940 in the Henrietta District near Langham, SK. Keith attended Henrietta, a one room school on his parent's home quarter. His high school years were spent at Bedford Road Collegiate in Saskatoon and he went on to the University of Saskatchewan in both the Colleges of Agriculture and Education. At that time he joined the Saskatoon Doukhobor Youth Choir resulting in many lasting friendships.

On July 30, 1962, he married Sonia Konkin and they were blessed with four children, Gregg, Glenn, Corina and Brent. In the fall of 1963, Keith took a two-year teaching position in Benito, MB, teaching sciences and maths but remained active on the family farm at Langham. In 1965, they moved back to Saskatoon to further his education and in 1971 moved to Langham to farm full time.

The family farm expanded to include land in Pelly and Canora and Keith and Sonia ultimately settled in the Canora area where they became very active in the Doukhobor community. Their work with the Doukhobor choir resulted in four CD's and many appearances with choirs in AB, BC and SK and as Chairman of the National Doukhobor Heritage Village, Keith spent many days with Sonia baking bread, volunteering and organizing tours and gatherings.

In 2012, they accompanied Brent and his wife Kari, on a dream trip to Russia where they performed a duet on the Cruise Ship. Keith and Sonia spent 52 years together creating a beautiful and welcoming home and yard to host friends and family and for their children and grandchildren to enjoy. Keith loved the land and came alive in the springtime; he spent the summer watching the crops grow and anticipating harvest. Above all, Keith's greatest love was his family, each of whom he loved unconditionally.

Keith was predeceased by his parents William and Susan; his nephew Dale Sirota and brother-in-law Mike Hunchak. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Sonia; their son Gregg (Shannon) and their family: Brendan (Rebecca and their girls Ayla and Emma), Larissa and Dominic; their son Glenn (Debbie); their daughter Corina and her children: Paul, Marie-Madeleine, Nicole and Maxime and their son Brent (Kari); Keith's two sisters Ruth (John Sirota) and Donna Hunchak; brother-in-law, Fred (Eileen) Konkin; as well as many nieces and nephews and their families.

A Gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, between the hours of 1:00 and 3:00 p.m., from the Chapel of Leson's Funeral Home. Cremation is to follow. Donations in Keith's memory may be made to the National Doukhobour Heritage Village, Box 99, Veregin, SK S0A 4H0. Family and friends unable to attend are invited to sign an online guest book for Keith at www.lesonsfuneralhome.ca. Arrangements were entrusted to LESON'S FUNERAL HOME, Canora.
