WEIR, Jacqueline Ann (Jaci)
After a courageous 7 year battle with breast cancer, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jaci on Wednesday March 19, 2014. A service will be held on Monday, March 24th at 2pm at Park Funeral Chapel, 311 - 3rd Avenue N in Saskatoon.

Jaci was born in Saskatoon on April 18, 1972, the second daughter to Bill and Myrna Weir. Growing up in Saskatoon she attended Montgomery School, Bedford Road Collegiate and the University of Saskatchewan earning both a Biology and an Engineering degree. Her interests were varied growing up, ranging from Highland Dancing to Basketball, she was a lifelong voracious reader, loved NFL football, curling and golf and because she was blessed with a very green thumb she loved to putter around in her garden and always had a beautiful yard.

Her career took her from Minneapolis, Minnesota to Estevan, Saskatchewan and finally to Stettler, Alberta where she was a Senior Mine Engineer with Sherritt Coal. Jaci was blessed to make and keep a number of friends in each location who she kept in touch with.

Jaci also loved to travel: across western Canada and Scotland with her family as a child, to Ireland with her Aunt Libby, to Costa Rica, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Mexico and the United States with friends and to Disneyworld, Turkey and Mexico with her sister and family.

Jaci told it how it was, was a loyal and loving friend, daughter, sister and auntie and she will be sadly missed but never forgotten by her family and friends.

Predeceased by her grandparents and her mother Myrna, Jaci leaves to mourn her passing her faithful canine companion Gus, her father William and his partner Agnes, her sister Michelle and her husband Murad, her nephew and niece Tariq and Serra, her Uncle Duane, Aunt Libby and Uncle Neil, Aunt Irene and Uncle Jim, Uncle Gavin and Aunt Marian, and cousins and their families. Jaci also leaves a number of special friends who were the extended family that she chose for herself including Lyle and Lori, Scott and Vicki, Erin, Blaine & Rebecca, Theresa and Kim, Shelley and Wes and Krista.

Her family would like to extend gratitude and thanks for the amazing care that Dr. Ahmed and Tracy and the wonderful staff at the Saskatoon Cancer Clinic gave to her during her journey, Dr. Parker, the Palliative Care Team and the St. Paul's Hospital staff that cared for her on her last day. Flowers are gratefully declined by donations can be made to the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency in memoriam to Jaci, designated to either the Saskatoon Cancer Clinic or to the Screening Program for Breast Cancer. Classmate from 1986-1990. Jaci you had an infectious smile and taken from us to soon.
