It is with sadness that the family of Wilmer A. (Bill) Pizzey announces his passing on September 29, 2018 at the age of 69.
He is fondly remembered by his wife of 50 years Kayla; daughters Leanne (Jason) Leedahl and Lesa (Dean) Gula; sons Kent (Diana) Pizzey and Brent (Tammy) Pizzey; grandchildren, Joshua and Taylor Priel; Will, Akasia and Robert Pizzey; Kaidyn, and Katya Gula; Katelyn, Brittany and Brandon Pizzey; Brooklyn and Tatum Leedahl; and great-granddaughter Sophia Metcalf; his brother Keith Pizzey; his sisters-in-law Gloria Pizzey, Gail Dawson, Lois (Harold) Dyck and brother-in-law Murray Hagel; as well as numerous nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his brothers Wayne and Bob; as well as his sisters-in-law Bernice, Clara, Audrey and Sandy.
He was born in Saskatoon to William George and Lola Irene Pizzey. Bill attended Caswell School, Bedford Road and Saskatoon Technical Collegiate. He worked for a number of Architectural firms in Saskatoon: KCR, Public Works Canada, Federated Co-operatives Ltd, and finally retired after 34 years with aodbt Architecture. A Past Master of Lodge Progress No.92. A.F.A.M., as well as a Past Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Saskatchewan A.F.A.M. He was also a member of Royal Arch Masonry and was a Past Grand First Principal of the Grand Chapter of R.A.M. for Saskatchewan. He was a 33rd degree Scottish Rite Free Mason and a member of the Royal Order of Scotland and the WA WA Shrine.
The family would like to thank the many doctors, nurses and staff at St. Paul's Hospital, as well as staff of the Saskatoon Cancer Clinic who aided Bill during his illness. A special thanks to Doctor Kurt Roelens and Dr. Kaiser Ali for their care, kindness and their friendship. The Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, October 5, 2018 at Christ Church Anglican (515 28th St. W.) in Saskatoon.
