PARNETT, EILEEN MAY (OLSON)
Of Saskatoon, SK passed away peacefully on July 9, 2004 at Circle Drive Special Care Home.
Eileen was predeceased by Frank, her husband of 48 years; parents, Anton and Vada Olson; brothers Carroll and Lloyd and sisters Almira Dill and Audrey Gibson. She is survived by her three daughters, Arleen Nicholls, Judy Cronk of Saskatoon, Deborah (Jack) Harasyn of Pike Lake; grandchildren Cathy Nicholls (Tony Weicker), Sandra (Mark) Huisman of Victoria, BC; Colleen (Darren) Lemke of Calgary, AB, Patti (Brett) Glendinning of Vancouver, BC, Jason Cronk, Saskatoon, and Cole Harasyn of Pike Lake; brothers Harold (Dorothy) Olson, Calgary, AB, Earle (Eileen) Olson, Edmonton, AB; sister, Thelma (Don) Craver of Kingman, AZ. USA, and numerous nieces and nephews in Canada, United States and New Zealand.
Eileen was born January 21, 1919 in Saskatoon and baptized in Houston Minnesota, raised in Saskatoon attending Princess Alexandra, Caswell, Bedford Road and Technical Collegiate. In 1938 she married her high school sweetheart Frank Parnett. Along with raising their family she occasionally worked in clerical and bookkeeping positions at the King George Hotel Cigar Store, Liggett's Drug Store, Adilman's Department Store, Rose Bowl Flower Shop and the Motor License Bureau.
She was an exceptional seamstress and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening, golfing, curling, playing the piano and organ, cards and Rummoli with her long time friends. Until three months ago Eileen was actively involved in the Lord Nelson Seniors Club.
Over the years she volunteered at the Scott Tournament of Hearts, Canada Summer Games, 75th Bedford Road Reunion and played the piano monthly for the Sunday church service at Parkridge Centre. She was an active member of Trinity United Church and a long time UCW member.
Her interests were varied and included Persephone Theatre, Park Town Dinner Theatre and attending ball games, horse racing, and watching major sports on TV. She was a very caring, considerate, compassionate person with a quiet but lively sense of humor. She faithfully kept in touch with family and friends over the years, remembering birthdays, anniversaries and special occasions. Eileen will be greatly missed by not only her family and friends but the many others who she came in contact with. We will truly have wonderful memories of her.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at Trinity United Church, 3318 Merritt Street, Reverend Sheila Krueger officiating.
