TWEED, CLIFF 1927 - 2007
Peacefully, on the morning of June 6, 2007, John William Clifford Tweed (Cliff) passed away at St Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon at the age of 80 years.
Born January 11, 1927, in Tate, Saskatchewan to Theresia and Jim Tweed, Cliff lived with his family in Tate, Seamans, Lemberg, Melville and Canora as a child growing up on the Saskatchewan prairie. In 1943 the Tweed family moved to Saskatoon where Cliff completed his high school at Bedford Road Collegiate. There he met the love of his life, Betty McLeod. Betty and Cliff were married in 1950 and raised two daughters, Patti and Maureen, in Saskatoon.
Cliff dedicated his career to the feed business, working for over thirty years for Federated Co-operatives. In their later years, Betty and Cliff spent five years overseas, working with the Canadian International Development Agency in the Philippines and Swaziland.
Cliff was pre-deceased by his parents, Theresia and Jim; his parents-in-law, Barbara and Bill McLeod; and his sister, Isabel Drennan. Cliff is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty; his daughter, Patti Tweed (John Burch); daughter, Maureen (Michael) Putinski; grandchildren, Bryan Clark (Stefani Taylor), Devin Clark, and Alicia Putinski; sister, Doris (Clint) Fowler; and sister-in-law, Jean Dunphy; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by Douglas Clark (father of Bryan and Devin).
Our Dad was a man of his word, enormously proud of, and devoted to his family. We will miss him.
Family and friends are invited to a Service of Remembrance on Monday, June 11, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Saskatoon Funeral Home, 338 4th Avenue North in Saskatoon. Rev.
