OGILVIE
Lloyd James Ogilvie passed away peacefully at home July 8, 2006. Lloyd was born February 19, 1933 in North Battleford, SK.

He is survived by his wife, June; and children, Greg Ogilvie (wife Heidi; Joshua, Sophie) Kamloops, BC, Nora Middleton (Lindsay, Hanna), Calgary, AB and Patty Ogilvie (Tanner, Bailey) Saskatoon, SK. Lloyd moved to Saskatoon in the early 1940's where he attended elementary school and Bedford Road Collegiate where he was active in football and basketball.

Lloyd was an avid jazz musician (saxophonist) and played with some of the first club bands in Saskatoon. Lloyd also loved stock car racing and was a founding member of the Triton Skin-diving Club. Lloyd married his sweetheart June in 1957 and they built their family home on an acreage south of Saskatoon.

Lloyd worked many years for a mechanical engineering firm in Saskatoon and in the construction industry. In 1980 Lloyd started his own business, Compass Construction Services and they relocated to Lac LaPlonge in Northern Saskatchewan.

Lloyd's retirement led him back to his beloved acreage where he reestablished his love of watercolor painting and nature watching. Lloyd received countless hours of enjoyment from watching nature in his own backyard. Endless birds and deer found sanctuary and admiration at the Ogilvie acreage. Lloyd will be deeply missed by family and friends.

A celebration of Lloyd Ogilvie's life will be held on Wednesday, July 12th, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. from Hillcrest Funeral Home (East on 8th Street turn right before the railway tracks). Donations in Lloyd's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan (279 Third Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8).
