FRANCIS, Dale Edwin 1942 - 2006
Dale was born on May 3, 1942 and passed away suddenly at the age of 63 on March 11, 2006.

He leaves to mourn his loving wife, Penny; and his daughter, Jennifer Francis of Edmonton; his stepson, Greg (Steffany) Pfeifer of Saskatoon; his identical twin brother, Dennis (Betty) Francis of Edmonton; and his sister, Joan (Len) Wright of Calgary; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dale was predeceased by his parents, Frank (Ted) and Bertha Francis of Saskatoon.

Dale was born and raised in Saskatoon, where he graduated from Bedford Road Collegiate and went on to earn his degree from the College of Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan. He worked as a professional civil engineer for Dominion Bridge in Saskatoon, Regina, Toronto and Calgary. For the past 20 years, Dale was the general manager of Supreme Steel, Bridge Division (formerly Central Fabricators) in Edmonton. He loved working in the steel industry, and was active on several steel industry boards and committees, serving as a trustee for health and welfare for Ironworkers local 720, the Canadian Institute of Steel Construction (CISC) and the Canadian Welding Bureau.

He was an avid golfer and an active curler at the Saville Center and is a past president of the Balmoral Curling Society.

A Funeral Service in celebration of Dale's life will be held at Foster & McGarvey, Sherwood Park Chapel, 4820 Meridian Street, Edmonton on Friday, March 17, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. Viewing Thursday evening 7:00 till 9:00 p.m. Interment will take place in South Haven Cemetery.
