Wayne Wohlgemuth
1944-08-25 1985-04-19
My oldest brother, Wayne Chester Wohlgemuth, was a Bedford Road graduate in 1962. He excelled on the curling team during his years at Bedford. Shortly after graduation the family moved to Swift Current, following our father who was promoted and transferred there with the Canadian Pacific Railway. Wayne continued on to work for the CPR in Chaplin, Sk. that summer before attending the Saskatchewan Technical Institute in Moose Jaw in 1963 in the Architectural Engineering Technology program. After one year at STI Wayne decided to change his career path and followed his passion, entering the autobody industry at Standard Motors in Swift Current. He remained there for six years, before moving his young family to Grande Prairie Alberta to become Manager of a body shop there. For most of the next 13 years he stayed there, except for one year working in Calgary, before relocating to Medicine Hat Alberta to work for an autobody supply company there. It was there, he passed, due to injuries received in an automobile accident.
