Nancy Tarbox, age 54, of Huron, died Friday, June 13, 2014, at the Huron Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service was Saturday, June 21st, at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Andrew Crandall, officiating. Burial was in the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Memorials are to be directed to Ross and Lia’s education fund.

Nancy Lynn Gramm was born January 2, 1960, to Milton and Betty (Buechler) Gramm at Minneapolis, Minnesota. She graduated from Columbia Heights High School. Nancy then attended St. Cloud State University, at St. Cloud, Minnesota, on a volleyball scholarship and pursued a degree in Medical Technology. After graduating she worked for a lab in Willmar, Minnesota. Nancy moved to Huron, South Dakota, in 1993 and worked for Huron Regional Medical Center until she retired due to health conditions.

On October 28, 1994, Nancy married Roger W. Tarbox at Pierre, South Dakota.

Nancy dedicated a lot of her time as a coach and volunteer for the Special Olympics. She enjoyed showing Quarter horses and Paint horses. She loved to ride her bicycle, Nancy did many rides including the Mickelson Trail, Tour de Corn, and the Century Ride. Nancy enjoyed playing softball and volleyball. She loved gardening, especially sweet corn and large pumpkins. Nancy also liked to do scrapbooking. She loved having adventures with her family and combining her favorite hobbies of photography, scrapbooking, and reading.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Grateful for having shared in her life are her husband, Roger Tarbox of Huron; her children, Ross and Lia Tarbox, both of Huron; her step-children, Tara (Shaun) Meyers and Troy Tarbox all of Huron; four grandsons, Leighton, Attley, and Kaston Tarbox, and Colton Meyers; her step-father and his wife, Tom and Jessie Helmbrecht of Minneapolis, Minnesota; one sister, Roxanne and Randy Berry of Bakersfield, California; one niece and one nephew; one aunt, Kathy and George Gisi of Watertown; and six cousins, Todd and Lisa Resmen of Sioux Falls, David and Tina Melanson of Watertown, A.J. and Holly York of Watertown, Larry and Pam Castro of Cleveland, Ohio, Robert and Cathy Stricker of Watertown, and Scott Buechler of Chicago, Illinois.
