Graduation year: 1978
Deceased Date: 2021-05-18
Obituary:
William "Bill" Calvin Barott, age 61 of Brooklyn Park, passed away on April 18, 2021. Bill was born on March 8th, 1960. He was to be the baby of the family of four siblings. He grew up in Columbia Heights and graduated in 1978. He was a Boy Scout with his troop from his church "Community Methodist". He eventually became a Scout Master for a handicap adult Boy Scout troop which he led for several years. Bill started his career at Honeywell in August of 1978 and remained there for 39 years. He started as an assembly worker and retired as a Group Leader. He held many jobs within Honeywell working at most of the facilities around the metro area. He was awarded many cash awards for his suggestions to improve the workflow of the assembly lines. He met Carol while working in the Optics department at Honeywell and they married on May 22nd, 1982 while they were both laid off from Honeywell. They moved to Brooklyn Center and bought their first house and lived there for nineteen years with Jason and Carissa. Bill started his volunteering early in his adult life. He was a Sunday School teacher a youth leader, a Trustee for several years and started our church's disaster team with Carissa. They went on several trips together including Katrina, Rogers, southern Minnesota. He joined with Samaritan's Purse and worked on the flood damage of Duluth. He worked with the Honeywell Volunteer group several times a year fixing buildings around the metro area. He also built houses with Habitat for Humanity around the city. Bill's goal was to be able to retire and work on disasters once a month. He physically could not do it. Towards the end he would oversee the trailer for a disaster and encourage the workers. He helped where he was needed including going on mission trips with our church youth, as a youth leader. During this time, Bill and Carol were also marching band chaperones for Champlin Park High School for eight years. He made many long-time friends and went on all the band trips with his children. During all these years Bill had a strength that carried him forward in life. He conquered Colon cancer, his first stroke, and many surgeries for pain in his bones. He made it back from his first stroke to go back to work and ride his bike for miles. He enjoyed his grandkids, Aidan, Riley, Autumn, Graysen, Seraphina and Benny. He and Carol went to the State Fair every year with the grandkids, and he usually made Carol go back several more times. He enjoyed many trips throughout his marriage with Carol and the kids and with Aidan and Riley. He had a hard time leaving his family in the end. He is leaving many friends, family and loved ones. He left his imprint upon our hearts, with cherished memories. He served God well! Flowers can be ordered from Elk River Floral 763-441-3950.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday April 24, at 1 PM at Brooklyn United Methodist Church, 7200 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Center.

Actor - IMDbPro
Scott Doebler was born on 26 April 1960 in Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania, USA. He was an actor, known for Ordinary People (1980) and The Tragedy of King Lear (1982). He died on 14 July 2013 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA.

Doebler, Scot K. Age 53, of Minneapolis. Before dawn on July 14, 2013 a great owl swooped down and carried the soul of our much-loved brother to the great beyond. Born April 26, 1960 in Jersey Shore, PA, Scot attended Columbia Heights schools where he made some lifelong friends. At age 8, with his older sister Lura, he launched an acting career in the Guthrie Theater's production of "Ardele." He continued acting and attended the Children's Theatre School. He was studying journalism at the U of M when he won a role in Robert Redford's Academy Award- winning film "Ordinary People." Scot moved to Los Angeles where he continued acting and worked as a reporter for the Pacific Palisades Post. While recognized for his acting, Scot was an artist, writer, storyteller, musician, and careful observer of human nature and the natural world. His watercolor paintings, handmade postcards sent to friends, and stories dedicated to his nieces and nephews are part of the treasure he leaves behind. More than anything, Scot appreciated the wonder of the natural world. Upon returning to Minneapolis, he took in everything: a bike ride in Theodore Wirth Park, a moonlit walk across a frozen Lake of the Isles, and solo adventures in the north woods. He never missed a chance to watch a meteor shower or see the northern lights. With eyes alert to the world around him he noted the osprey, the cooper's hawk, and always, the owls. His death was presaged by a red fox dancing in the twilight outside his window. Preceded in death by his parents, David and Yvonne Doebler, he is survived by a brother David, two sisters, Lura and Jennifer, beloved nieces and nephews, and many dear friends, who showed their appreciation and love until his death from cancer. Whether the sparkle of his smile, his affection for his friends and family, the mischievous glint in his eyes, or the absorbing magic of the tales he lived and told, he will be sorely missed; such as him do not oft pass our way.
