I am married to Mark and I have two kids and two step-kids and together we have 8 grandchildren (ages 3 to 20).

I retired after spending the majority of my career working at Valparaiso University. I worked in the Advancement Office and planned numerous events both on campus and in many cities around the country.

Now retired, I enjoy traveling, pickleball, bike riding, golf, yoga and reading. My ultimate favorite activity is spending time with family, especially my beautiful and entertaining grandkids!

I have been married 40 years to my wife Paula. We have 2 daughters, both married and 5 granddaughters ranging in age from 1 to 10.

Music was a big part of my HS and college life however I did not pursue it as a career. I did continue playing my Trumpet for a number of years in church.
I had a 40 year career in the construction industry. Early on I traveled for several years to job sites as an onsite Field Engineer. After getting married and having children moved into an office environment doing preconstruction work like estimating and proposal preparation ultimately becoming a Preconstruction Director.

After retirement I enjoy relaxing with Paula, playing Pickleball, reading, helping with our grandkids, attending church and listening to music.

Occupation: Retired special education teacher
Comment:
After high school I attended Ball State and got my Bachelors in 1978 and my Masters in 1983. I taught special education for 40 years for South Newton School Corporation in Kentland, IN, where I taught predominantly middle school kids. I have been a class sponsor, student council sponsor, and a middle school cheer coach. I retired in 2018 but continued substitute teaching until 2023 when I decided I didn't want to go to school any longer. Ha!

I have been married to Ed since 1987. We have two children (now adults). Melody was born in 1990 and Justin was born in 1992. Meli lives in Chicago and works for the ABA and Justin is a band director in Kokomo, IN.

I enjoy musical theater, following my son's marching band as well as being a fan of Drum Corps International. Justin marched with Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps (LaCrosse, WI) for 3 summers. Once a band mom....always a band mom. I am an avid reader and also enjoy knitting. I currently knit chemo caps for Delaware Head Huggers that provides hats for chemo patients. I enjoy flower gardening, resale shopping, and am a proud cat mom. Taking the South Shore to Chicago to spend time with our daughter is a favorite activity.

No grandkids yet. Justin and his bride-to-be are planning a May 2025 wedding so we have some busy months ahead of us.
