If you’ve ever seen Liana Bonavita by a campfire, you’ve seen her “dance” – aka jump around with her husband Casey to Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody”. Liana is a former sports anchor-turned financial advisor. She transitioned from News10 ABC to Northwestern Mutual one, for family and two, to make a bigger impact (on her clients, the community, and most importantly her two children).
Her Boston fandom has led to 13 championships in her lifetime, and if she can add a personal number 14 to the list, it’ll mean the fight against childhood cancer has taken a major step forward. How amazing would that be?! Her top five favorite things to do are: 1. Laugh 2. Dance 3. Travel 4. Learn 5. Love on her family. She’s thrilled this opportunity allows her soul to be full, and can’t wait to take that joy to the dance floor!
Johnny Martinez is the co-director of Tango Fusion Dance Company along with his wife Dianne Lachtrupp. Until recently, they lived in New York City and were co-owners of Stepping Out Studios in Manhattan, featuring 80 group classes a week and employing 30 people. They recently moved their family to Saratoga Springs and brought with them their passion for teaching and dancing.
Johnny holds a BME in engineering from Pratt Institute and before joining forces with Diane, was a concert dance and musical theatre performer. He performed in the National and European tours of "West Side Story", "Damn Yankees", and "Fiddler on the Roof". He was a member of the Nanette Bearden Contemporary Dance Theatre and the associate choreographer of the Anabella Gonzalez Dance Theatre.
