Obituary
Rachel Marie "Rach" Richmond, 43, of Burlington, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023. After a short but fierce fight against cancer, she passed away at home with her loving family by her side.

Rachel was born on March 12, 1980, to Thomas and Pamela Hefty. She grew up in Honey Creek and graduated from Burlington High School in 1998. On April 20, 2002, at Cross Lutheran Church, Rachel was united in marriage to the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Jason Richmond. In a world of uncertainty, their love is unwavering. Their love is selfless, generous, compassionate, and perfect in its imperfection. Their unconditional love is a testament to their devotion to one another through sickness and in health, and will live on through their beautiful children. A short time after they were united in marriage, Rachel and Jason welcomed their two beautiful children into the world, Evan and Abbeygale. Rachel was a loving, compassionate, strong, and extraordinary mother.

In 2008, Rachel began her career with Aurora as a PSR, where she worked for 13 years. Her most recent position was with Timothy Smith and Allison DeLorme Family Dentistry, where she loved greeting patients with a smile. In December of 2017, Jason, Rachel, and their children moved into their newly built family dream home where she enjoyed cooking, baking, and hosting gatherings for family and friends. Rachel's life revolved around her family. She adored kids and her dog, Scout. Babies magically found their way into her arms. She enjoyed making memories with family events involving music, concerts, fishing and traveling. Recent family trips included Nashville, Universal Studios, Hollywood Beach, and Gulf Shores.

Even after her cancer diagnosis in March, Rachel continued to put her family first as she attempted to leave them with a few more great memories. Her loving and caring spirit will live on in the many lives she touched over the years.

Rachel is survived by her husband Jason; children Evan and Abbeygale; her parents, Tom and Pam Hefty; brother Jesse (Katie) Hefty; parents-in-law, Ralph and Vicky Richmond; brothers-in-law, Joshua (Lynsey) Richmond and Jared (Josette) Richmond; nieces and nephews, Anthony, Jakob, Zachary, Hunter, Lila, Paisley, and Everly. She is further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends.

Rachel's family would like to express a special thank you to the Advocate Aurora Oncology Team for the compassionate care they gave to her, and to Molly and Sandy with Aurora at Home, for guiding them through the end of her journey. They would also like to thank family and friends, especially Ralph and Vicky Richmond and Jennifer Fell, for their overwhelming support during this difficult time.

Family and friends are welcome to gather and remember Rachel and celebrate her life on Sunday, June 4th, 2023, from 1 to 3:50 p.m. followed by a eulogy reading and open sharing time at Integrity Celebration Center, 2789 Browns Lake Drive Burlington WI 53105.
