I've been following my best friend and husband (King Smith) around the country for 46 years. My most important job and accomplishment was the raising of three children who grew up to be wonderful people that we love to be around. I also worked alongside my husband in several family owned businesses, but most recently, in eighteen years in full time church ministry. I led worship, taught women and kids, and pretty much whatever needed to be done. It will be so fun to reconnect with you all.

After graduating, I went to the University of Idaho where I ran Cross Country and Track. Following college, I got my teaching job at Brentwood Elementary School in the Mead School District where I taught grades 2-6. In that time, I completed a Masters Degree from Whitworth University. I taught for 42 years and retired 3 years ago. I have been married for 44 years (this August) and have 2 grandchildren. Two years ago, we moved to the Bitterroot Valley in Montana (where my wife was raised). I enjoy playing golf, hiking, and walking for recreation.

Only worked 3 jobs after graduating from the UW. Spent a year and a half at Hanford (programming on an Apple IIe computer). Then spent 6 years back in Spokane working at a small firm creating Auto Rating software for Independent Insurance Agents in WA and ID. Finally moved to Redmond, WA and spent 33 years at Safeco Life (which got sold and became Symetra, based in Bellevue). Eventually moved from programming to becoming a software test engineer. I tested our company's website. Retired 1-1/2 years ago.

I recently lost my best friend after 38 wonderful years of marriage. Our only grandchild just graduated from high school (making me feel old). Since graduating from UW, I've had three careers. I was a banker for 10 years; then was accountant/office manager for my husband's business for 20 years. I retired two years ago after 14 years as a bank & financial institutions examiner for the State of Utah. We retired in Twin Falls, Idaho, where I enjoy walking and being walked by our dog, catching up on the reading I didn't do during my working years, and making quilts for charity. Still deciding whether I'll stay here or return to Seattle or Salt Lake, both places where we have lived, or return to Spokane, or maybe try out Boise. So many choices! I'm looking forward to seeing my classmates after all these years, and really appreciate the people who have done so much work to organize this reunion.

I have lived in Alaska since 1980. My husband, Howard, and I have two grown children, one of whom lives here with her husband and child. The other one lives in Northern California. I love to travel to warmer places (i.e. Mexico and Europe) in the winter . My favorite sport to play is pickleball. I love to garden and play with my 4 year old grandson. I am an avid Minnesota Vikings (through marriage) fan(atic) and a major baseball fan as well. Unfortunately, my twin brother, Richard, passed away unexpectedly in April 2021 and since the only reunions I have been to have always been with Richard, this one will definitely be bittersweet.

Living on Mercer Island since 1991. Engaged to a wonderful man, also from Mercer Island who I’ve known for 20 years. His wife passed in 2019, my husband left for his 4th grade crush in San Diego in 2020, and we found each other after he reached out to me for a burger and a beer.
Retired from AT&T. Charlie and I love being active playing tennis, golf, pickleball, hiking, skiing and cycling. We love to travel and spend time in warm desert climates in the winter.
Blessed with 3 great children who all live in the greater Seattle area and have a grandchild due in December. Life is great. Look forward to catching up with Ferris ‘74 classmates!

50 years! Wow, it has been quite a journey. Right after high school I got my executive secretary certificate. This came in handy as I later worked my way through college 1977-1981. I ended up going to Central to get an ECE major with a Special Ed minor. Then I got married 1981 and stayed home for 10 years with our two children.

In 1991, I began working part-time as a paraprofessional and finally, began teaching at the age of 44. During my teaching years, I taught Kindergarten and got a Masters in ESL (English as a Second Language) and later became a certified GLAD (Guided Language Acquisition Design) Trainer. I also was able to train student teachers.

Retiring this year has given me time to enjoy volunteering in school, helping with our four grandchildren, and traveling with my husband to cribbage tournaments- he plays- not me. Through the years, I have also volunteered at church and community outreach projects. In 1977, I turned to the Lord, and all I have been able to do is because of Him.

I moved to Oregon, near Portland in 1979 after I married. Taught school for 30 years in 2 different districts. We have 2 boys, 39 and 36. We have 2 grand daughters who live in the area so we are lucky to see them regularly. I retired from teaching at age 54, in 2010. Since that time we have enjoyed traveling. I continue to teach an after school art program 15 weeks a year. I enjoy walking every day, volunteering a couple times a month, girlfriends, and just living life.

After graduating from WSU, I enjoyed a 42-year career with St. Paul/Travelers Insurance Company underwriting insurance products for Financial Institutions. I was fortunate to live for a time in Portland, OR, Orange County, CA, Seattle and finally back to Spokane. In 1990, I was one of the first “work from home” models as one of 3 employees in a company of 20,000 that was allowed to work remotely...and now everyone is doing it!
While living in California, I flew home to Spokane for a vacation and on that flight, I had a chance meeting with Glen (Ferris ‘75) as he was making a work trip from LAX to Spokane. We reconnected in Southern California, and the next 42 wonderful years are history! We’ve enjoyed raising our three children, Kellie, Kevin and Kimberly here in Spokane - all Ferris grads! Retirement time is spent visiting our kids in Seattle and Portland, traveling a bit, reading, watching tennis – Glen's teams as well as pro tennis and spending time at the lake.

Looking forward to the 50th reunion!

It has been a very interesting 50 years. I discovered the Living Lord Jesus Christ, which profoundly changed life’s trajectory, in my sophomore year at EWSC. I’ve been blessed to have a tenure in aviation maintenance and then in EMS, crewing an ambulance. The last 32 years has been in the insurance industry as a multi-line claims adjuster (14 years) and a risk control consultant (18 years). Retired this March but keeping my hand in risk control with Spokane’s Union Gospel Mission.

My lovey bride, (Monica), has put up with me for the past 33 years this August. We have three grown children and looking forward to grandkids!

As you might remember, I went through high school with the name of Dorsey, (adopted at age nine). At age 28 I met my father and later changed to my birthname of “Colley.”

Steve and I live in Spokane. I worked for Nordstrom, Spokane School District 81, and Saint George's School. We have four daughters and nine grandchildren ages 20-2. Three of our daughters live in the Portland area and one in Los Angeles. Steve and I love to travel and have traveled all over the world with and without our daughters. We also have a small travel trailer and have covered most of the western US; some of it with the grandkids! We've lost loved ones, faced injury and illness, and made it through set-backs and disappointments with the help, support, and love of family and dear old friends. We have been blessed and are grateful.

So glad a reunion is being planned. Thank you for the hard work.

After High School I graduated with an elementary school teaching degree, from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, OR. I went on to earn credentials in literacy, special education and early childhood education.

I taught first and second grade for 4 years in Oregon. When I fell in love with Jack Holland. We married in 1981 and have been happily married for going on 43 years. Jack is a wonderful partner who has been a blessing to me all these years.

I did some graduate work in Speech Pathology. Then we had our first son Benjamin Jay, and I was promoted to stay at home mom. Ben was followed by little brother Joshua Walter in 1990.

When both boys were in school I substituted in Vancouver School District for 5 years. Then I accepted a Special ed job. I completed a master’s degree in 2007. I taught special ed., kindergarten and was a literacy specialist for a total of 16 years. I retired in 2014. I miss my students and the privilege of being a partner in their learning. I do not miss the politics of public education and the priorities districts often make that do not keep the kids front and center.

Since retiring I have published my first children’s book,”The Caterpillar Who Wasn’t”available in most book stores.
My husband Jack and I love to travel. We have visited 6 continents (only missing Australia). We hope we will be able to take another trip or two. My knees and Jack’s balance make mobility an issue. So that may clip our wings a bit. We will see what the future holds.

In addition to having 2 wonderful grown sons, our family includes 2 wonderful daughters-in-law and 2 even more wonderful grandsons: Cooper Fynn Holland aged 6 and brilliant (of course), Gifford Jay Holland aged 1 also brilliant and 1 step grandson Jacob Hansen who just turned 21. He is a very industrious and personable young man. We are fortunate that our boys live in the Vancouver area so that we get to babysit 2 days a week regularly and other miscellaneous times. These are the best days of the week even if the most tiring. You know what they say, “If I had known having grandkids was so much fun, I would have had them first!”

The other days I spend trying, with varying degrees of success, to catch up on all the tasks that were neglected during my years of teaching, parenting and traveling. The desire to be done with this is strong but, sigh, the flesh and lures of more entertaining pass times is stronger.

We love our home in Vancouver and being close to family. I am involved in Bible Study Fellowship and enjoy having the opportunity to be involved.

So that, in a rather large nut shell, is what I have been up to since graduating from Joel E. Ferris. I am looking forward to catching up with High School friends in June.

Lynnette and I (46 years!) 4 children, 13 grandchildren, all either in Spokane or nearby and doing very well. We still live in the Ferris district and I root for the Saxons every time we don't have a grandchild on the opposing team. My wife being a Mead girl is somewhat less of a booster. (Old animosities die hard!)
Trying to maintain my relevance and remain active in the family business is a loosing battle. The new generation with their sharp minds remind me daily that very few old men need be in charge of anything!

50 years ago we threw our graduation caps in the air and charged into the adult world, like a good Saxon would!

I never thought I would leave Spokane but right after graduation I moved to Boise for 3 years. My next stop was Bellevue for 10 years. I sold homes there and loved being a realtor. I married my husband Craig there. But Craig’s company had other plans for us. They moved us to Hawaii. We loved the beach, weather, culture, kids sports and great food. I found my passion for pottery there - teaching, working for art organizations and galleries. It was Hawaii bliss for 16 years. Then Craig’s company downsized and we were sent to Wisconsin - we liked it! Casseroles, cheese and the Packers. Craig retired there from the Gillette Company after 34 years and I continued with pottery. When our son youngest graduated from high school we came home to Washington and settled in Vancouver.

Best part of my life is my family. I have 2 great sons. Oldest lives in Los Angeles with his wife, the youngest is in Portland. Both sons are in the culinary field and yes I eat well. I have the pounds to show! I also have an incredible 8 year old grandson that helps to work off those pounds. Craig and I were together for 35 years. Unfortunately Craig passed away in 2013 from cancer. We all miss him greatly.

I am looking forward to seeing everyone and hearing your stories of the last 50 years.
