COOK, Dr. Erick L. Entered into eternal rest on the morning of Sunday, April 18, 2010, Dr. Erick L. Cook, husband of Maureen York Cook. Residence, Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends of Dr. and Mrs. Erick L. Cook are invited to attend the memorial services of the former in Grace United Methodist Church on Sunday, April 25, 2010 at Three O'clock. A Celebration of Life to be held in Fairfield, Ohio at a time to be announced. Memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 1601 Sam Rittenberg Blvd., Charleston, SC 29407 or Fairfield Community Foundation, Dr. Erick Cook Scholarship, 5350 Pleasant Avenue, Fairfield, OH 45014.

Dr. Cook was born November 4, 1944 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the son of the late Edwin L. Cook and Edith Gordon Cook. He graduated from Woodward High School in Cincinnati, OH and in 1971 obtained a BS in Education from the University of Cincinnati. He furthered his education at Xavier University and Miami University in Oxford, Ohio for a MED in School Administration and Supervision in 1974 and an EED in School Administration in 1990. Erick also received his South Carolina Certification as Superintendent, Elementary Principal and Elementary Supervisor and earned his South Carolina Real Estate License.

Dr. Cook is survived by his wife; Maureen Y. Cook of Charleston, SC: a son, Christopher C. Cook and his wife, Jaclyn of Mt. Pleasant, SC: a daughter, Catherine Cook of Cincinnati, OH: a sister, Elaine Reifsteck and her husband, Steve of Okeana, OH: two brothers, Jeffery Cook and his wife, Nancy of Cincinnati, OH and Kim Cook of West Chester, OH: three grandchildren, Edwin, Virginia and Walter Cook; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. DUNCIL, Adam Christopher Age 25, of Wellston and a former resident of Hamilton and Fairfield, Ohio, died Tuesday, December 21, 2004 at St. Mary's Hospital in Huntington, W. Virginia. He was born June 15, 1979 in Hamilton, Ohio, the son of Debby darling Baker of Wellston and the late John C. Duncil, Jr. Adam was a 1997 graduate of Fairfield High School, where he loved wrestling and attended the Fairfield Missionary Baptist Church. Besides his mother, he is survived by his step father, Herman Baker of Wellston; brothers, Calvin Duncil of Hamilton and Johnny Duncil of Fairfield; sister, Amanda Duncil of Silverton; uncle, David Darling of Marietta; nieces and nephews, Travis and Katlynn Duncil and Hannah and Danielle Darling as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Esther Darling and Calvin and Marie Duncil. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home. Christine Godsey

Obituary:
Christine R. Godsey, 75, of Hamilton, passed away on Thursday, October 22. She was the daughter of the late Hillis (H. B.) and Eliza Reedy. Christine is survived by her husband of 55 years, Maurice A. Godsey; son, Mark (Michele) Godsey; daughter, Amy (Andrew) Godsey Alexander; grandchildren, Dana, Peter and Gordon Godsey as well as Andrew and Gillian Alexander; brothers, H. B. (Jeanette) Reedy, Jr. and John W. (Inis) Reedy; sisters, Ivetta (John) Washko and Monette Reedy. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

For 30 years, Christine enjoyed a career as an English teacher for Fairfield High School. The family will receive friends at the Ivey Funeral Home, 2565 Princeton Road, Hamilton on Wednesday, October 28 from 5 pm until 8 pm. Funeral Services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, October 29 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park, Hamilton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Christine's memory be made to the following organizations: One Way Farm, 6131 E. Michael Hauenstein

HAUENSTEIN, Michael Jeffrey Age 27, of Monroe, Ohio died Friday, October 20, 2006 at 3:30 a.m. at Christ Hospital after winning his battle with cancer. He was born on April 2, 1979 in Hamilton, Ohio the son of Thomas J. and Deborah A. (Heichelbech) Hauenstein. He was educated in the Fairfield Schools graduating from Fairfield High School in 1997. On August 10, 2002 in St. Mark United Methodist Church he married Ann M. Nearon. He was employed at Ford Motor Company as a manufacturing technician. He was a member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church, GCRCC and Super Tight Car Club. He is survived by his devoted wife Ann, his beloved son Tyler J., his loving parents Tom and Debbie Hauenstein, his supportive sister Sara Hauenstein, grandparents Ed and Mary Jo Heichelbech and Emil Hauenstein. He is also survived by many other family and friends. Funeral Services will be Monday October 23, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at the Paul R. Young Funeral Home 3950 Pleasant Ave. Hamilton with Pastor Jeff Raker officiating. Burial in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Ronald Masanek

Obituary:
On Sunday, May 29th, 2022, loving husband, father, grandfather, and coach Ronald J. Masanek passed away at the age of 80. Ron was born on August 13th, 1941, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Julia Kazol Masanek and Julian Masanek. Ron grew up in Parma, Ohio, and worked in his father's restaurant as a young man. He attended Parma High School (graduated 1959), where he was a member of the wrestling team. Later, he went to Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, on a wrestling scholarship and became a two-time Mid-American Conference wrestling runner-up and a two-time collegiate national qualifier. At Miami, Ron also earned a master's degree in education in 1964 and met his beloved wife of fifty-five years, Stephanie Smith Masanek. Ron went on to teach history at Fairfield High School for thirty-six years. At Fairfield, Ron served as the head wrestling coach for forty-eight years, the longest tenure of any high school coach in the Cincinnati area. During his coaching career, Ron compiled 403 dual wins, 11 undefeated dual seasons, 23 Greater Miami Conference (GMC) championships, 200 GMC champions, 127 sectional champions, 42 district champions, 150 state qualifiers, 43 state placers, and 9 individual state championship titles. In addition to wrestling, Ron devoted his life to his family and enjoyed gardening, golfing, and fishing. Ron was also a faithful Catholic and attended Sacred Heart Parish in Fairfield. Ron is survived by his wife Stephanie Smith Masanek, his sister Donna Masanek Prochko, his daughters Mikie Masanek and Charlie Masanek, and his grandchildren James Masanek and Sarah Krusinski.

The visitation will be Friday, June 3rd, from 11:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. at Fairfield High School Arena. Please wear red! The funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 4:00 p.m., following the visitation. We are so touched by the tremendous amount of love and support we have received from everyone in the community. It is truly a blessing to know the impact Ron has had on so many lives. In lieu of flowers, there will be a Fairfield wrestling scholarship fund donation collected at the visitation. Thank you for your love, kindness, and graciousness. Michael Staudt

Michael A. Staudt, 74, of Ross passed away at Mercy Fairfield on October 2, 2019

surrounded by his children and friends. Born in Jacksonville, Florida on January 1, 1945,

he attended North College Hill High School, but graduated from Mount Healthy High School

in 1963 lettering in 4 sports. Mike graduated from Miami University in 1967 with

a BA in history. While at Miami he played football for Bo Schembechler and

pledged SAE Fraternity where he developed lifelong friendships. Upon graduation he started teaching
at Fairfield High School while getting his Masters in Math Education from Miami. He went

on to get a 2nd Masters in Administration from the University of Denver.



Mike taught math for 30 years at FHS where he also coached football and

put announcements on the PA for the faux hockey team he “coached.” He was

also president of the teacher’s union, FCTA. Mike loved the outdoors; he rafted the

Colorado, Gauley, and New Rivers, completed two different Outward Bound survival experiences,

and hiked part of the Appalachian Trail, including climbing Mount Katahdin. When Mike wasn’t

being adventurous, he was planting huge gardens or building things, even building his own

passive-solar house.



Mike’s greatest accomplishments were his children: Rachel Staudt Gould of Ross, Nathan Staudt of

Fairfield, and his granddaughter Emelia (Millie) Staudt. Mike was preceded in death by his

parents, Beverly Smith Stewart Staudt, Joseph Staudt, and Charles Stewart.



He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and thousands of former students.

His unconventional and quirky life perspective will live on in their memories.



A memorial for Mike Staudt will be held October 19, 2019 at

the Creekside Middle School (old FHS)- 1111 Nilles Rd Fairfield Oh 45014.

Celebration of Life from 1pm-4pm and Words of Remembrance at 2pm.

SULLIVAN Kathleen of Cincinnati, age 29, died Tuesday, December 22, 1998 at 3:09 P.M. in Liberty Township, the result of an auto accident. She will be greatly missed by her parents, Ray and Patricia (Joyce) Sullivan Jr. of Fairfield; her brother, Michael Sullivan of Los Angeles; and her sister and brother-in-law, Julie and Daryl McCracken of Toronto; her boyfriend, Brandon Cox of Cincinnati; and the students and staff of Fairfield High School where she was a much loved English and Drama Teacher. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, December 28 at 10:30 A.M.

at Sacred Heart Church, 400 Nilles Rd., Fairfield with Fr. Edward Stolze, Celebrant. Burial will be in New St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 27 from 2-6 P.M.

Aric TRENT Obituary

TRENT, Aric Age 38 of Fairfield passed away Sunday March 5, 2017. He was born October 12, 1978 in Cincinnati, Ohio the son of Karen Neuner and the late Danny Trent. Aric was a dedicated coach and board member for Fairfield Youth Football for many years and was an avid softball player. He was a big fan of The Ohio State University and was also an accomplished cook. Aric is survived by his mother Karen Donnelly and step father Jim Donnelly; Amy West; three children Victoria ( Tyler Little) Trent, Dylan Trent, and Caiden Trent; step son Tommy West; grandson Brantley Little, and siblings Danielle ( Jeremy) Trent; Aaron (Nicole) Donnelly, and James (Heather) Donnelly. Aric is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and many close friends.
