Yvonne Fortenberry Briscoe entered eternal rest on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at the age of 69. Yvonne was baptized in 2005 as a Jehovah's Witness. She was the beloved wife of Claude Briscoe and the loving mother of John Jarrow, Monique Moore and the belated Joshua Fortenberry. She enjoyed spending time with and loving on her grandkids for whom she adored. She was the grandmother of Imani Lee, Deja Lee, Ava Moore, Grayce Moore, Javon Jarrow, Aaron LeBlanc, and Janiya Jarrow...She was preceded in death by her parents James and Arny Mae Fortenberry and belated brother Sonny Fortenberry. She leaves behind five siblings Alma Lebeau, Almena Charles, Joan Williams, Lillie Fortenberry, Brenda Joseph and James Fortenberry and a host of other relatives. She was a 1974 graduate of Walter L. Cohen High School and a former bus driver for The New Orleans Transit Authority. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, following service at 10:00 am on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at D.W. Rita Weston Obituary
Rita A. Weston was born September 28, 1958. She was the second child born to Carey and Janice Weston in Slidell, Louisiana. At an early age the family moved to Pasco, Washington and then relocated to Seattle, Washington.



They later moved to Los Angeles, California, where Rita attended Los Angeles High School. She furthered her education by attending USC, Los Angeles and while there she joined the USC Marching Band. Rita worked for Collings Foods as an administrator and later becoming a property manager. Rita met George in 1980. They later jumped the broom on September 11, 2000.



She is preceded in death by her mother Janice Wallace, father Carey Weston, sister Carol Jean Hamilton, nephew Alexander Hamilton and stepfather Maurice Wallace.


She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, George Godon, brother Marlon Weston, uncle Tyrone Tackwood, Aunt, Clara B. Penn, sister-in-law Terry Manning, brother-in-law Kenneth Holly, dear nephews: Allen Hennings (Nicole), and Marlon Weston Jr., niece Marily Weston, nieces-in-law: Patrice Watson and KenTosha Holly; as well as a very special cousin Elmer Penn (Patricia) and a cousin-in-law Eddie Richardson. She also leaves a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
