I remember rushing to the cafeteria EVERY day to pick up a sandwich from Mrs Fellows at the snack bar window. Then heading over to play tennis with Rene Marquez. BTW, Miss Rogers was strict but a great tennis coach and French teacher.

I remember working on the Weekly Spartan with a talented and dedicated group of friends in Mr Mahoney’s classroom. And of course, Don McClean’s American Pie was heard in the background coming from Mr Olsen’s room.

I remember my favorite teachers and staff. Mr. Mahoney, Mr. Smith, Miss Rogers, Coach Pakish, Coach Cooper, Mrs. Fellows… Who were your favorites?

I remember picking up bushel bags of potatoes from the potato packing shed, wrapping them in foil and filling the cafeteria ovens with them on home game days. In the late afternoon we would fill water coolers with them, haul them to the stadium and sell them for a dollar. Complete with handy paper tray, salt packet and pat of butter.
