Occupation: Retired teacher
Comment: What my life mentor taught me many years ago (Jimmy Buffett)...
“We got to roll with the punches, play all of our hunches, make the best of whatever comes your way. Forget that blind ambition, learn to trust your intuition - plowing straight ahead, come what may.”

Patty and I have been married for 42 years! We are both retired teachers. We have 2 daughters and 2 grandsons. Those 2 boys can sure keep us busy.

Hope to see you all there!

Kathryn Olson (Laier)

Children: 3
Occupation: Retired Family & Consumer Sciences Teacher
Comment: I married fellow '72 classmate Alan Olson in 1976. We have 3 kids and 3 grandchildren. We bought our first home in Des Plaines, and then 17-1/2 years later, moved to Palatine, where we've been for the past 26 years. I began my teaching career at Maine South HS. in Park Ridge in their Home Ec. Dept. (now known as Family & Consumer Sciences), and remained with the district for 7 years. I then took time off to raise our 3 kids until we moved to Palatine and our youngest entered 1st grade. I worked part time for 6 years at the local middle schools, and finished off my last 10 years of teaching at Lake Zurich High School. Since I retired, I pass the time swimming at the Y and visiting my grandchildren as much as possible. My lifelong hobby is sewing. I also enjoy cake decorating, and I now get to put those skills to use again for the grandkids' birthdays, beginning with their baby showers before they were born. Now that we have a newborn grandson, I have another baby quilt to make for Christmas.
