Jeffrey Grant Stevens, age 61, died Sunday, September 13, 2015, at his home. He was born April 3, 1954 in Evergreen Park to Warren L. and Beverly (Grant) Stevens. On November 19, 1977, he married Sharon Kneisel at St. Edna Church in Arlington Heights. Formerly of Arlington Heights, Jeff was a resident of the McHenry Township area since 1988. A mechanical designer for 38 years, Jeff was most recently employed at Quartex in Lake Geneva. A dedicated family man, Jeff never missed his childrens' sports games while they were growing up. He was an adoring grandfather to his two grandchildren. An avid fan of the Ford Mustang car, he was a Mustang owner and loved to watch T.V. car auctions. Jeff was meticulous in the care of his yard and landscaping, never letting anyone else tend to those coveted duties. He also enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles, and the companionship of his dogs, Frieda and Wilma. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Sharon; three children, Lauren (David) Zielinski of Hampshire, Derek (Shannon) Stevens of Pingree Grove, and Charles Stevens of Chicago; two grandchildren, Ashlynn and Jeffrey; his siblings, Leslie (Jim) Lippert, Linda (Rick) Boos, and Robert (Patty) Stevens; several nieces and nephews; his mother-in-law, Rita (the late Robert) Kneisel; and his in-laws, Pattie (Ken) Krause, Rick (Tina) Kneisel, and Bob (Angie) Kneisel. He was preceded in death by his parents.
