Had a wonderful time. Saw many classmates. Not happy with the group pictures though. Hope I can be at the one next year.
Rose Marie and I had a fantastic time. So many thanks to so many people. To M.C./50th Reunion Planning Team---Thanks so much for orchestrating the activities necessary to provide for a reunion that none of us will ever forget. I understand that you and a small group started the initial planning well over a year ago. The hard work and attention to detail was obvious. The web site, address book, Lives of the Generals, hospitality room, school tour, ice breaker, prayer breakfast, luncheon, and dinner dance---PERFECT. I heard not one complaint. Rose Marie and I could not have enjoyed ourselves more. It was so good to see so many of our classmates that I have not seen in 50 years. I'm only sorry that we didn't have more time to chat and catch up on what has happoned over the years. I hope we can all get together again sooner than 2020. I heard some discussion concerning the desire to have a function in about two years as we approach/reach 70. I will be glad to assist if that comes to fruition. Again, thanks for such a professional job that was certainly well done. Please pass on my thanks to the others that assisted you. To Mack---I want to thank you again for planning and providing the Prayer Breakfast. It was certainly well done and very relevant for a function like the Class Reunion. It showed a real touch of class. I was glad to see good participation but wish more could have attended. Also, thanks for the coffee and pastry. To Carolyn---Rose Marie and I wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed the luncheon at your lovely home. It was outstanding in every way. Please pass on to Carol and the others that assisted you our sincere thanks. V/R, Vaden
Hi, classmates. I hope you’ve received the almost daily “memory messages” I’ve sent to our Class of 1960 email list since December 2020. If not, please let me know. Take care. Stay safe.
I did not gradute from Lee but did go to John Gorrie from 1953 to Christmas of 1956 when my parents moved to North Jax near the Highland subdivision. I recgonize a lot of the pictures of classmates. I graduted from Ribault H. S. in 1960. My John Gorrie wood shop teacher was Milford Brown who became my woodshop teacher when I went to Ribault. I am 71 years old now. I retired from JEA in 1995 at age 53 with a little over 28 years. I also retired from the FL Air National Guard in 1993.. I was in the Navy for a little over 4 years. Then a few years later joined the Army National Guard as a helicoptor repairman. Then resigned and a couple of years later joined the Air Guard. In 1967 I was reading electric meters in Murry Hill and saw a former classmater name Cyrus.
Attended this school in 59/60 before moving back to south florida. would love to check in with old classmates. visited John Gorrie Jr High school this summer , it has been turned to a condo complex.
Loved seeing this web site. I would have been in the class of 60, but we moved to New Orleans after 9th grade. I make it back to Jax occasionally - fun to remember such fun times.

To M.C., Beth Ann and all the volunteers who made this reunion so unforgetable; Such a wonderful experience. To CarolyneWison and your volunteers; the lunch was really good. It gave us time to get one on one with each other and really communicate. Thanks for opening up your beautiful home. God Bless and Thanks. Mack Crenshaw and your volunteers; Just a note to thank you for organizing the prayer breakfast Saturday morning. We tend to take the goodness of God for granted. If anyone knows Jesus he must tell others- Thanks.
I have not frequented the web site and just really looked at it today. It is great. You have done a fantastic job. Someone mentioned only 10 days, I can't believe it is so close. I am really looking forward to seeing everyone. Nelson
Reflections: My wife and I really enjoyed the reunion. Everyone we met were super nice folks. I should have expected that. Here is the problem. The reunion was a reality check for me. I thought that I was younger. Not until I saw my fellow classmates did I realize that something was wrong. These people are looking older than I saw myself. What is wrong with them? Maybe a lifestyle problem?? I was forced to leave and go to my hotel room to spend some mirror time to check to see if I had overlooked something. The reality struck. I looked just like you. I am dealing with it, but I am still having lots of fun and a good time. Thanks so much for a great reunion. Kindness is contagious. – Freddie Williams
A special thank you to Doug Boomer, Mike Pickels, and Linda Van Landingham who gave so much time and effort to make our reunion such a wonderful success. We should all come to your reunions and work like dogs to show our appreciation. It was a truly memorable weekend.
M.C., Beth Ann and volunteers, congratulations on such a fantastic weekend. It will take days to absorb and review names, pictures, and info from so many attendees. A special thank you to Carolyn Wilson for her warm hospitality last Saturday. Can you believe everyone is already talking about the next reunion. Great job!
What a wonderful reunion! It was great seeing everyone and renewing friendships and meeting others we had not really known. M. C. and Beth Ann, along with so many that helped, made this our best reunion ever. Also, it was really nice meeting spouses of our classmates. We missed many of you who could not attend. Wish you had been with us!Irv and Elaine (Hazlehurst) Rae
Lenora and I had a wonderful time at the Reunion. This gave us a much needed \'mini-vacation\' and I got to see a lot of old friends. It was fun to look through the pictures of former Reunions. We had only come to one Reunion before, held at the beach. Thanks to all who were involved in putting together all the events for the weekend.
I am looking forward to seeing and trying my best to recognize some of my "old" friends.
Thank you so much for the memories..Sorry I can\'t attend....I left Lee after my junior year , joined the Air Force and had a great career...Regretted leaving my many friends so early, but Steve Ravesies and I are still close friends . His email is sravesies@aol.com. Does anyone know what happened to Beverly McGahee ? She was a very nice girl and was friends with Patricia Taylor..
Sure enjoyed this website. Looking forward to seeing you folks this coming Sat.
10 days to go...this last year has gone fast. Excitement fills the air as we plan to gather the weekend of the 21st. Thank you to MC and her committee for such an outstanding job of putting this gala event together.
